Thomas Bernard Wilder, 22, of Gilroy, is to be arraigned today on charges of assault with a deadly weapon. He is being held in the Fremont city jail on $10,000 bail.Police said the attack occurred about 11 a.m., as the two men -- both landscape workers with Naturescape Environmental Design Company of Morgan Hill -- were busy on the grounds of 48897 Crestview Common.Wilder, the crew foreman, allegedly picked a fight with Benjamin Hernandez, 40, of Gilroy, and a scuffle took place. After officers called the Gilroy home of Wilder later in the day, he agreed to return to Fremont to be questioned. He was arrested at police headquarters .The blow resulted in compound fractures to Hernandez's left arm just below the elbow, police said. He underwent surgery at Washington Hospital in Fremont Tuesday night, and was held for observation at the hospital Wednesday.
