The arrest of Ed Platt of Mariners Harbor came during a sweep of three Staten Island neighborhoods that also resulted in the arrest of seven Bloods members and 13 other suspects and the seizure of drugs, cash, guns and cars, police said. Platt was busted in the Parkside Senior Citizen Apartments at 160 Heberton Ave., where he was doing a $10,000-a-week business in crack, said Capt. Paul Murtha, commander of Staten Island narcotics detectives.Murtha said his plainclothes investigators had made several felony-level drug buys in Platt's room and had made street deals with him as well.He said Platt dealt drugs to members of two Bloods subgroups: Sex Money and Murder in the New Brighton area and Nine Trey in Port Richmond.Police said Platt was not a member of the gang himself.Detectives from the 120th Precinct said that in the sweep, police units specializing in narcotics, street gangs and intelligence gathering executed warrants beginning at midnight Thursday and ending early yesterday.The cops blitzed six locations: 310 Taylor St., West Brighton; 160 Heberton Ave., 21 Maple St. and 62 Harrison Ave., all in Mariners Harbor; and 119 Brook St. and 241 Benzinger Ave. in New Brighton.Detectives said they seized two .357 magnum revolvers, a .22-caliber semi-automatic pistol and a 12-gauge shotgun; 1½ pounds of crack cocaine and 3½ pounds of marijuana and $4,563 in cash.Vehicles seized included a 1995 Mitsubishi Galant, a 1991 Mazda MPV and a 1987 Nissan Maxima.Platt and the other 20 suspects — 15 men and five women — face charges ranging from criminal sale of a controlled substance to criminal possession of a controlled substance to weapons possession. The other suspects range in age from 15 to 46.
