The Montana House Agricultural Committee gave unanimous approval to the proposal yesterday, which calls on the federal government to end the ban on industrial hemp. 
Supporters say hemp could be a valuable alternative crop for Montana farmers. A legislative resolution to encourage the legalization of industrial hemp has moved out of committee.
