Larry Smith, 48, of Sylvania Township, is charged with three counts of drug abuse and one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. He was released Friday on $3,000 bond.Smith, a co-pilot for United Airlines, has been suspended pending the outcome of the case, said Andy Close, a spokesman for the airline, which planned an investigation.The Federal Aviation Administration also will investigate, spokesman Tony Molinaro said.No one was available on Saturday to address whether the pilot may have been using drugs while flying, Toledo police said.Smith did not return a message left at his home Saturday.Police received an informant's tips about drug activity in the house, which authorities searched Wednesday night, said Lt. Dan Schultz.Officers found 5 grams to 6 grams of rock cocaine and powder cocaine, worth about $1,200. Police also seized 3 ounces of marijuana as well as a crack pipe, he said.
