Tip Leads to Two Arrests on Pot Charges!

POMPTON LAKES -- Police arrested a pair of borough men after receiving a tip that they would be returning from New York City with a load of marijuana, a detective said.
Police obtained a description of the car and license plate number and set up surveillance at the edge of town Sunday night, said Detective Sgt. Stephen Seifried.About 8 p.m., police spotted the vehicle, stopped it, and arrested Shawn Reed, 18, of Washington Street, and Joseph Porillo, 19, of River Edge Drive, Seifried said. Both men were charged with possession of marijuana and possession with intent to distribute, the sergeant said.The men had a total of 100 grams of the drug with them when they were pulled over, he said.Each remained in Passaic County Jail on Monday on $10,000 bail, police said.-- TIMOTHY D.
