Iowa -- Local care providers and law enforcement said they are taking a wait-and-see approach to a recommendation from a state board to legalize marijuana for medical uses. The Iowa Board of Pharmacy unanimously voted Wednesday to ask the Legislature to legalize the drug for medical use. It also called for lawmakers to change the classification of marijuana to a Schedule II drug, which includes substances such as Demerol, opium and morphine, according to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration's Web site.
The Legislature is not expected to take any action on the recommendation during the current session, which is likely to end by late March.Ronald A. Herman, a University of Iowa associate clinical professor of pharmacy and director of the Iowa Drug Information Network, said marijuana could have serious effects on people who take it for the first time."People who are exposed to it for the first time are more sensitive to it," he said. "They could seriously injure others as well as themselves."At the same time, though, he said the recommendation to change marijuana's classification was the "best possible alternative" because it controls its availability because a prescription for it could not be renewed or made orally. Dope can be dangerous for the first time!
it isn't as important for the people who already smoke pot and don't wanna hear "he's a pothead?", "He smokes pot!". Especially in high school. I was hearing that in some places if you smoke pot its hard 2 even talk to girls lol. People believe in judging and people who smoke pot are more creative and that may be something why it takes so long to get decriminalized

interesting perspective
isn't it fascinating that the paper says that doctors and police and waiting to see what happens with this law. Apparently they are the ones we should worry about, not the sick and dying. Respect your master! don't worry about the sick and weak.Great message!

Side Effects/Herman
This is in the link to the rest of the story...“” Ronald A. Herman, a University of Iowa associate clinical professor of pharmacy and director of the Iowa Drug Information Network, said marijuana could have serious effects on people who take it for the first time."People who are exposed to it for the first time are more sensitive to it," he said. "They could seriously injure others as well as themselves."At the same time, though, he said the recommendation to change marijuana's classification was the "best possible alternative" because it controls its availability because a prescription for it could not be renewed or made orally."It does not give people the freedom to grow and harvest marijuana," Herman said. "Hopefully, people will be warned about those (side effects). If (the law's) going to change, this is the best possible change."””Side effects??? – On one side of their mouth they say it does nothing but make you assassin a bag of potato chips...Here they talk about side effects??? Herman must be confused with the TV ad machine/boobtube//idiotbox drugs on TV...or is he trying to confuse the public???...He is a pharmacist after all...Side effects of ‘Prohibition’ are what really need to be discussed...Some say Potato..Dan Quayle says Potatoe...The Vice-President and The Potatoe Kidhttp://potatomuseum.com/exPoliticsQuayle.html

Tikilma is a small community settled by artist and hippies during the late 60's and early 70's. It is a unique community of counter culture. It sit in an ancient sacred spot, one occupied by the Modoc Takilma Indians. They said the place is a medicine spot because the canyon that runs north and south is blocked on the south end by the only mountain range in the world that runs east and west instead of north and south, The Siskyous Mountains,

How many people have experienced cannabis since the first cave man piled a bundle onto of his cave fire, sat there and got super stoned?Million, billions? I know that there are a reported one hundred million first time users in America today!First of all if first time use is so bad, what does 99% have another try at it?Number two; Dangerous to others? OK When we were young hippies Me and my two younger sisters got stoned to watch something on TV together [one sister is now a long line 18 wheel truck driver, my other sister founded and still operates: http://childrenofthehour.com/children_hour_contact.html.]Long story short, my sisters got into a fight over the last swig of Coke and we had been eating popcorn! The idiot Doctor is right cannabis consumption can be dangerous to those around you.
