California -- Local television producer Jimmy Rickel has taken a bold step to answer former Congressman Dan Hamburg's challenge to put Measure G up to a vote. Measure G is the county voter initiative that declared prosecuting the cultivation of marijuana would be the lowest priority for county law enforcement, and in no case would local law enforcement arrest and no district attorney would prosecute anybody for growing 25 or fewer marijuana plants.
It was approved by 58 percent of the voters in November 2000.Rickel has authored and has secured permission to circulate an initiative petition called Sensible Medical Marijuana (SSM).According to him, SSM does four things: 1. It overturns Measure G.2. It sets the plants limits for growing medical marijuana at Senate Bill 420 levels, namely, six mature and 12 immature medical marijuana plants. 3. It provides that "caregrivers", i.e., those who are growing medical marijuana, may not grow for more than four "patient cards" per year, per parcel.4. It directs county government to figure out how to make certain doctors' recommendations for medical marijuana are for serious medical conditions only. Rickel said the SSM initiative was approved for circulation on Nov. 6, 2007. He has until early April to gather the necessary number of signatures set by county Clerk-Recorder Marsha Wharff at 3,015. Rickel said that he has about a dozen people helping him gather signatures throughout the county, and could use more help.People wishing to aid Rickel in his effort to put the SSM initiative on the ballot may call him at 485-7915, or they can email him at: sensiblemedicalmarijuana yahoo.comRickel said he submitted his ballot initiative because that the efforts of the board of supervisors was going to be ineffective. "I knew the board of supervisors was not going to have any teeth in any ordinance they would try to adopt," Rickel said. He added he is aware that his position may not be popular in some circles. "I'm anticipating crap on this from left, right and center," he said. All I can say is, 'Bring it on.'"Source: Willits News (CA)Author: Mike A'Dair, TWN Staff WriterPublished: December 26, 2007Copyright: 2007 Willits NewsContact: editorial willitsnews.comWebsite: http://www.willitsnews.com/Related Article:Time To Repeal Measure Ghttp://cannabisnews.com/news/thread23551.shtmlCannabisNews -- Cannabis Archiveshttp://cannabisnews.com/news/list/cannabis.shtml

after 1 year in Ukiah.....
I moved to Ukiah from Nevada because the plant limits were too low in Nevada and I always ran out. This is the worst place Iīve ever lived. There is a very small group who runs everything here and the town will only listen to them. My girlfriend took a 12,000 a year pay cut to work here doing the exact same job and everything costs twice as much. Iīve lived all over the US and in Brazil for 5 years and this is by far the worst place. No work, what work there is pays minimum wage and everybody is into themselves here. California really does suck to live in, the place is beautiful but the people are the most self-centered arrogant and angry (that includes the hippies) people Iīve seen. Next year itīs back to Nevada, this place has nothing to offer except angry conservatives who seem to only focus on medical marijuana, never mind the outrageous meth and prescription drug problem here. And thatīs coming from somebody who moved from NEVADA. At least the people there are real and mind there own damn business.

Thank you. That was a very nice way to start my day. Someday yes someday. I hope the day comes sooner rather then later but I do realize we are in a big mess now since this administration has alienated us in the world.

Stevie Wonder Some Day at Christmas Lyrics
http://www.lyricsdir.com/stevie-wonder-some-day-at-christmas-lyrics.htmlSomeday at Christmas men won't be boys
Playing with bombs like kids play with toys
One warm December our hearts will see
A world where men are free Someday at Christmas there'll be no wars
When we have learned what Christmas is for
When we have found what life's really worth
There'll be peace on earthSomeday all our dreams will come to be
Someday in a world where men are free
Maybe not in time for you and me
But someday at ChristmastimeSomeday at Christmas we'll see a land
with no hungry children, no empty hands
One happy morning people will share
a world where people careSomeday at Christmas there'll be no tears
All men are equal and no man has fears
One shining moment, one prayer away
From our world todaySomeday all our dreams will come to be
Someday in a world where men are free
Maybe not in time for you and me
But someday at ChristmastimeSomeday at Christmas man will not fail
hate would be gone and love will prevail
Someday a new world that we can start
With hope in every heartSomeday all our dreams will come to be
Someday in a world where men are free
Maybe not in time for you and me
But someday at Christmastime
Someday at Christmastime

About the article
4. It directs county government to figure out how to make certain doctors' recommendations for medical marijuana are for serious medical conditions only. That is a blatant encroachment on doctor-patient confidence and privacy! The state law makes it clear that the doctor makes the decision whether it's a serious enough medical condition or not. PERIOD. It ends there. To second guess and interfere in that process is a complete undermining of the spirit and intent of the law, not to mention a doctor's right to practice without being meddled with. What is this guy---a television producer? Who is going to let a television producer write an ordinance that allows city and county bureaucrats to challenge a doctor's professional opinion? And what is this really about...? That some residents get annoyed by the seasonal aroma of cannabis? Or that those people are envious that growers are making some money?

I know what you are saying. Hope is a dangerous emotion these days. I really worry about the ones running that I don't trust at all. They scare me. I never would have felt this concerned if it hadn't been for losing good people years ago that believed in Hope.

Bhutto
Hope does not come cheaply these days. It surely does not pay to place your hope in persons, especially if they are worthy of it. Like Nuevo said, the good people don't get to live past their stands that they make for truth, freedom, justice, or love. The list of martyrs is long, most of them aren't on public record, and none of them killed, or murdered to gain their status as martyrs. And unfortunately the image of bush's glee does leap to the fore. I can see that demon smile without closing my eyes. Like a roller coaster ride; up and down, into the light, then back into the darkness again. So it will be until people start to change the ride by deciding for themselves to be decent human beings, and not delegating their responsibility to rogues and thieves. This system is for the rogues and thieves, set up beautifully so that a predatory, ruthless mentality can thrive, and a good, decent human is trampled on, decieved, robbed, imprisoned, and finally destroyed.I have to say one thing about all the good people in our recent history that have met the business end of the CIA; they all had an invested interest in the status quo -they had money. That is what made them dangerous in the eyes of the powers that be. Without money, one's only power is the truth, and it is not a personal investiture, nor a badge of office or authority. However it is always the truth that lives on after the mouth that speaks it dies, and it lives on, circulates, and perculates, grows, and becomes part of the consciousness. Once there it is nearly impossible to remove. That is why we have already won the war on light by the darkness. Though the body of the beast seems frightening, and formidable, and more and more destruction is coming in it's final death throws, it is in fact already dead. The only reason it appears to live is the power that people still give to it through the ancient fear and programming. We are the head, and we can choose to stop animating that corpse through our daily feeding of it. And every little but helps. Choosing to walk instead of drive. Choosing alternatives to pollution, destruction, war, prejudice, and false authority is our only real power to effect change. Here is a truth that will be denied; There is no way to 'change the system from within.' There may be folks 'within' trying to change it, but history shows us that nine times out of ten or even worse odds, the corruption overwhelms you before you even have a chance to 'effect change.' Whatever change can be exacted from within can be done better without, because the minds and preceptions that need to be addressed, don't reside in that rarified atmosphere of the elite. The elite have already chosen their course, and if everyone just gets out of their contrived and perpetuated babylon, they will get their destiny a whole lot quicker, and we will be free of them a whole lot sooner.I pray for Ms. Bhutto and her familypeace will come

I was just talking to my husband about all that has happened since this administration got in power. I am at a point where I believe the battle is between the haves and the have nots in the world. It's all a big power push and it makes me feel sick when I think about it.

Funny how many people hate bush......
OT rant, thanks for listening!Bhutto asassinated, bush relieved (my snark):http://www.rawstory.com/news/mochila/
Pakistan_s_Bhutto_killed_by_bombing_12272007.htmlRemember folks, the Pakistani ISI was in on, and perhaps behind 911, along with the bushies and Al CIAda, so they do our bidding, and we do the good cop/bad cop routine with them, in case you need reminding!More people on Planet Earth hate George Bush, aka MONKEY FACE, and somehow, he lives on, and kills, and murders, obliterates, crushes, assassinates, orders assassinations, and on and on, and nobody can stop him, nor dare! Hmmmmm.......and we thought Germans and Germany were guilty
of inaction....And great people like Bhutto, MLK, LENNON, RFK, JFK, Ghandi, you name it, you don't get to live, only despots and thugs prevail on Earth, the Good go to Heaven, the rest of us are sentenced to live in bush hell until we die of nuk-ular devastation, or a paid hit, like Wellstone and family, and now Benizir Bhutto, and I can see the smiles on bush/cheney now.The Mafia don't mess around, and they have it down, don't they! (And guess who has control of Pakistan's' Nukes, the story you WON'T hear much discussion of, just Iran, who doesn't even have any. Don't talk about Pakistan's nukes, it's off topic for our politicians for some reason.Down with the USA! I can hear it now!We are now more hated than Pakistan, as bush and company are the Enablers, and the American People better make it known to the world which side they stand on, as we look really bad now.America is complicit, it will be revealed, and it will be the last straw for the world when it comes to tolerating the US support of dictators worldwide.Bhutto=corruption, Mushareff=great leader, bush=innocent bystander, watch his press conference, and you be the judge! We, America, have become a cancerous threat to the world, and someone high up in our terrorist government is standing somewhere behind this, as only the US still supports Musshareff, we have become the Evil Empire who beats his effing chest, and brags of our inhumanity as we export our murderous Blackwater death mongers to kill worldwide.Without laws or accountability, this must stop, and we must do something now, or else we are effed, we've already found ourselves at the bottom of the slippery slope of facism, and this is a result of America standing by, KNOWING how threatened bhuttos life was, with her own government trying to asassinate her before this.Of course, the US Gov was waiting for this to happen, and of course, there was NOTHING they could do to stop this, we are innocent, geez, how could this happen, and who done it anyway, certainly not Mushareff? Now Judy Rule-I-on-you has spoken, the WAR on Terror is BACK! For him, this is GOOD!America died another death today, the People of Pakistan KNOW who supports their bloodthirsty dictator: Bush/cheney!!!! How does it feel to live in a dictatorship, and what makes anyone think bush will allow elections, we are all living in a pipe dream folks, thank GOD for pipes!Watch how the media mentions 'corruption' every time they bring her name up, Joe Scarborough just did, and David Shuster had to counter him. After the Kennedy assassination,(I guess it started with Lincoln, I stand corrected), we became the country of asasination politics, don't be fooled, WE, and I mean our 'leaders' are behind everything toxic in the world, or so it seems, as the bush agenda smells and I can smell it everywhere, even the Dems have been gotten to, and this is what they are afraid of. Can we impeach Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid for not impeaching bush/cheney NOW please!www.wexlerwantshearings.com
(up to 140,000, we need 110,000 more!)Can we all be like her, the great woman known as Benizir Bhutto, not AFRAID of death, as her whole family seems to have been murdered previous to her, NOT afraid of death, as it awaits us all, and we should all dedicate our lives to making the lives of others better, and see to it that all are held accountable for their brutal crimes! The MEDIA is complicit and should be held accountable FIRST as the FOURTH Estate is GUILTY of complicity, Guilty as CHARGED!Oh FOM, you know OBAMA has been put on a list don't you?Bush and his mafia are inexpensive, and never get caught! Now the story will be: when will Obama have an attempt on his life? And guess who will order the hit?You got it!Guar-an-effing-teed!Which means, only Hillary is safe from the bushies, and she is bush with tits, (sorry, I'm extremely pissed at the Dems, they are complicit too, watch them defend Mushareff too, I won't be surprised, and watch bush-paid media question her, and bring up corruption charges, while ignoring the MASSIVE corruption of the Pakistani government who was instrumental in bush/cheneys 911 attacks on New York), and ignoring the blatant truth, this is an action that was no doubt blessed, encouraged, and inspired by our guys who want no opposition to Mushareff.Think about it folks, we have been had, and it don't look good. Just because this happens 'over there' doesn't mean we aren't involved, just look at how much coverage there is.Bush still backs Mushareff, and now we look like the only supporters in the World of this dictators, and we are exposed as the New Nazis!Yeah, bush has accomplished his mission, he can go now!I, or anybody, could see the writing on the wall, WE ALL knew this was going to happen, especially after the last attempt failed, and now, here comes bush, no, it will be later, so bush can fumble around and find the words he doesn't want to speak. This is the event I expect will spark a world-wide revolution, and if this doesn't, nothing will! And we will all be 'wellstoned and bhutto-ed'!(her father was hung, and two brothers murdered, and the US is Pakistans biggest supporter, YOU TELL ME WTF is UP)!Still waiting for bushes reaction, funny, it has to be stage managed, nothing sincere or unrehearsed here!I don't see how any of us that post here can still be living in the USA, I feel like lambs just waiting for certain slaughter. Kudos to all who have moved, and made new lives for themselves abroad!Once a plant like Cannabis was made illegal world-wide, the stage was set for our certain demise, as how can one even fathom that could be a reality, and IT IS!We've gone from being Masters of the Universe, to lowly cockroaches happy to get a scrap. We can still shop though! And men, men suck, I'm embarrased to be one!It was a MAN who blew her up, and himself, what else is new?Women are the great oppressed, suppressed, divine energy of the Universe, and I call on all men to resign their positions of authority and turn their positions over to a woman now, we don't hold our own accountable, it just goes on and on and on, Women rock and men kill! That's how I see it, though Condi and Hillary are just bushies with boobs, not to be confused with the divine feminine! In the Iroquois Confederation, the WOMEN were the only ones who had a vote! Now that makes sense to me!Of course, not ALL men are bad, rotten, corrupt and evil, it just seems like MOST of them are.And that is from a man, so it isn't a sexist' statement, more of an insiders view!Only men rape, gang rape, and kill routinely, as far as I can tell anyway.

Bottom Line
I don't need a government telling me what I can take, and what I can't take. I'm old enough to make those decisions and many more on my own.

Good Holiday News From FOX
Certain marijuana components may suppress the tumors of highly invasive cancers, a new study finds. In laboratory tests, cannabinoids, the active components in marijuana were found to slow the spread of lung and cervical cancer tumors, according to researchers Robert Ramer and Burkhard Hinz of the University of Rostock in Germany.Proponents of medical marijuana believe that cannabinoids reduce the side effects of cancer treatment, such as pain, weight loss, and vomiting. The new study, published in the Jan. 2 issue of the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, finds that the compounds may also have an anticancer effect. However, more research is needed to determine whether the laboratory results will hold true in humans, the authors wrote. In addition to suppressing tumor cell invasion, cannabinoids also stimulated the expression of TIMP-1, an inhibitor of a group of enzymes that are involved in tumor cell invasion."To our knowledge, this is the first report of TIMP-1-dependent anti-invasive effects of cannabinoids," the authors wrote. "This signaling pathway may play an important role in the antimetastatic action of cannabinoids, whose potential therapeutic benefit in the treatment of highly invasive cancers should be addressed in clinical trials."Happy Holidays!
