Pubdate: June 15, 1999 The Kentucky Hemp Growers Cooperative Association will host it's 4th annual membership meeting on June 26, 1999, 2 p.m. at the Fayette County Extension Office in Lexington, Kentucky. Special guests for the event include Anita Roddick, dynamic speaker and founder of the Body Shop, a multi-million dollar cosmetic company based in England with over 1,500 retail location in 47 countries around the world. Other guests are Jean Laprise, the founder of Kenex, Canada's largest industrial hemp growing and processing company; Carl Webster, Kentucky State University aquaculture specialist, editor of the Journal of Applied Aquaculture, President of the U.S. Chapter of the World Aquaculture Society and currently working on a research project using Nutri-hemp as a diet for hybrid striped bass; Dennis Crone, an Irish specialist on textile equipment and agricultural fibers and Lexington's Mayor Pam Miller. Co-op president Andy Graves said, "When North Dakota, Minnesota, Hawaii and 77% of Kentuckians agree farmers should grow hemp, its time for action, call your legislators!
