Black Tar Heroin:The Dark End of the StreetAmerica UndercoverWednesday, April 14, 11pm ET/PT TVMA (AC,AL)Whoever coined the term "heroin chic" didn't see this documentary. With an unflinching approach, director-producer Steve Okazaki looks at five San Francisco residents -- three women, two men, all between 18 and 25 -- whose lives have spiraled out of control after becoming hopelessly addicted to Mexican heroin.
Shot over the course of a two-year period, Okazaki's verite style follows the quintet as they shoot-up and then resort to prostitution, dealing or panhandling to score their next hit. Click the above link for time and schedule!

this is a very touching documentary. i taped it for my children to see. they are ages 9 & 6 and have seen this film. they are aware of drugs and what they can do, but i felt the need to show them. this film also touches home--i lost my mother to a long battle of drugs. thanks for showing the world how serious this problem is and how it affects us all.....i used you documentary for presentation...thanks a lot...
