Authorities are investigating whether drugs played a role in a double shooting in south Boulder on Monday night.Boulder police recovered about 30 marijuana plants and a half-pound of harvested marijuana from the home where two men were wounded during an apparent robbery attempt.
The Boulder County Drug Task Force is evaluating whether drug-possession charges should be filed against the shooting victims, Allan Belair, 24, and Jason McGraw, city spokeswoman Jana Petersen said.Tuesday morning, search crews recovered a ski mask and other evidence believed to be related to the crime, but no weapon was found."Area residents are asked to be mindful of this situation and immediately report the location of any weapon found by calling 911," Petersen said. "Don't touch the weapon. Just call police as soon as possible." The shooting happened about 9:45 p.m. at 22 S. 31st St. Belair and McGraw told investigators two men with masks came to the door. After a scuffle at the entryway, one of the suspects fired at least one shot, hitting both victims in the leg. The pair then fled.University of Colorado police arrested Robert Munro, 21, in a nearby neighborhood "after he ran" when they approached, Petersen said. Investigators are trying to determine if Munro was involved in the crime. He was held overnight at Boulder County Jail for an outstanding warrant and posted bail Tuesday morning.Published: January 12, 2000Copyright 1999-2000 The Denver Post.
