VENTURA, CA -- "Emperor of Hemp -- a nonfiction film about one man’s fight for truth, justice … and a plant -- is now available on video.
Produced by Double J Films of Ventura, CA., the documentary was funded by Body Shop International founder Anita Roddick, written by former L.A. Times staff writer Jeff Meyers and directed by Jeff Jones. Bonnie Raitt, Kris Kristofferson, Joe Walsh and Cheap Trick provided songs for the soundtrack. Peter Coyote supplied the narration. The 59-minute film tells Jack Herer’s story and how he came to write the underground bestseller “The Emperor Wears No Clothes.” Even if you've read the book, "Emperor of Hemp" will take you down new paths. It explores his transformation from Goldwater Republican to father of the modern hemp movement. His tenacious crusade to bring hemp back from the brink of extinction. His rejection by the marijuana reform movement, and his ultimate vindication. It puts you inside the Library of Congress when he finds proof that "Hemp for Victory" was made by the U.S. Department of Agriculture And it examines the rather peculiar circumstances surrounding the prohibition of a simple beneficial plant. Double J Films has no plans at this time to show the film on TV or in theaters. It is only being sold online at:http://www.emperorofhemp.com/Praise for "Emperor of Hemp": Bill Maher,"Politically Incorrect" "A triumph for the open-minded."http://abc.go.com/pi/index.htmlRichard Cowan,http://www.marijuananews.com/“Fun … entertaining, informative and often powerful … a must-see.”Read Dick Cowan’s entire review at:http://www.marijuananews.com/Dan Skye, High Timeshttp://www.hightimes.com/ "A super-duper film bio and a great intro to hemp." BE HEARD!
Show people how u really feel, no I'm not saying u should just light a fatty in public or anything. Make a bumper sticker or buy one to put on ur car, make flyers and post them all over your town or at least wherever your legally allowed to, or make buttons, just do something to make sure you get heard. Remember they can take your bud but they can't take your 1st amendment! FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT! peace out.
