USA -- “Who is satisfied that millions of people have police records for possessing marijuana when the CEOs of Wall Street companies who destroyed our economy have no police records?” Bernie Sanders declared Sunday night in the fourth Democratic presidential debate. The Vermont senator blasted mass incarceration and the prison-industrial complex.
“We have a criminal justice system which is broken,” Sanders said. “Who in America is satisfied that we have more people in jail than any other country on Earth, including China?”Earlier in the day, Sanders tweeted about the issue, noting that China has four times the population of the U.S., but significantly fewer prisoners. The U.S. has just 5 percent of the global population, but one-fourth of the world’s prisoners.Sanders lamented that these prisoners are also “disproportionately African American and Latino.”Hillary Clinton also noted “One out of three African-American men may well end up going to prison. That’s the statistic.”“I want people here to think what we would be doing if it was one out of three white men,” Clinton said.Sanders also addressed the structural inequalities black Americans face. “Who is satisfied that 51% of African American young people are either unemployed, or underemployed?” Sanders said.Studies show that black candidates for jobs who are equally qualified with white candidates are less likely to get offered an interview. Black Harvard graduates are just as likely to get a callback as white Americans who graduated from a state college. In fact, studies show racism is so prevalent, white former felons have the same chances of getting hired as black candidates who have no criminal record.Sanders called for “investing in jobs and education, not in jails and incarceration.”No Wall Street CEOs were imprisoned for their role in crashing the economy in 2008.“It’s not that federal government tried to prosecute a bunch of them but lost the cases,” the Washington Post reported. “There were no serious efforts at criminal prosecutions at all.Ben Norton is a politics staff writer at Salon. Brown people to south.
You displace them, steal their resources and land, therefore their inheritance and then talk about fences.Ever heard of la Raza? Formed in 1966 they are going strong today. Their plan is to breed themselves into a majority while using US funds, jobs and wellfare. It is a long term goal that is working while piss in off a lot of white people. Someday the Southwest will be overpopulated by brown people and whites will be forced to live elsewhere. Maybe then they will build a fence to keep out white-eyes?

I agree with Mr. Zuckerman.
All of you European interlopers need to go back across the pond from whence you came.We do not enjoy what you have done to our mother earth.

Mass incarceration was a policy
Mass incarceration was a government policy. It worked. It was designed to put people away and mess them up. Hundreds of thousands of minority folks were rounded up and warehoused in prisons for decades. (Remember the prison building boom and the prison industrial complex. I think the Bush family was heavily invested in this.) Families were broken up and communities were disrupted. When people were released, they could not find employment, or get educational assistance, or even get housing assistance. Their future was bleak. They could not even vote. That was the plan. Pass laws that kept the poor and minorities economically oppressed and unable to vote. Politicians did not have to worry about them anymore. They could not vote and they did not have any economic power. Everyone and every institution began to prey on them as a group to try to get as much from them as they could. Now (maybe it always has been), it is petty arrest with fines that grow larger and larger, police violence, school to jail programs, reduced city services to poor communities. I won’t bore any one anymore with the rest.
Mass incarceration is a problem that the political class is finally starting to notice, maybe.

Trump or Sanders:
I presently have two Donald Trump bumper stickers on my car. However, Donald Trump has not discussed supporting ending Marijuana prohibition. Bernie has, though! Bernie supported phasing alternative medicine into the V.A. hospital care! I'm taking Tai Chai class on Monday afternoons at the Phoenix V.A. Hospital, probably as a result of former U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders' position as Chairman of the U.S. Senate Veterans Committee! I do NOT support open-borders immigration, though. In fact, I support sending back every single unauthorized immigrant! I must weigh my priorities.

Burnie will change this injustice.
“Who is satisfied that millions of people have police records for possessing marijuana when the CEOs of Wall Street companies who destroyed our economy have no police records?” MORE IMPORTANT; WHO WILL not only acknowledge it but also TURN THINGS AROUND AND CORRECT THAT INJUSTICE?BURNIE SANDERS!Citizens, especially young voters realize ending cannabis prohibition is paramount and the only nominee who says He or She will do it is Burnie.Ending cannabis prohibition, speaks to young voters and that causes young voters to pay attention.Pay attention to Burnie Sanders

wall street
$2.5 trillion taken from us, only 1 obscure Chinese firm on Wall Street prosecuted, other not even investigated. In the 1980's S&L crisis over 1,000 bankers were given jail terms! There was no war, it was quiet, but this country was taken over by a hostile force in the intervening years. Our institutions have been corrupted from the inside out. Look at how the media runs all Trump, all the time. The big story of this election is Bernie! The same handful of families own the media, the criminal justice system, the politicians, and Wall Street.

White Collar Crime
“It’s not that federal government tried to prosecute a bunch of them but lost the cases,” the Washington Post reported. “There were no serious efforts at criminal prosecutions at all.
That statement is very upsetting. It shows the complete lack of interest by authorities to make any attempt to right what has been wrong and that is just in the financial sector!
To get the Feds to do anything other than bow down and kiss the corporate feet, well, is impossible. Money talks.
