Trenton -- Following reports that New Jersey's medical marijuana program is suffering from low enrollment, Gov. Chris Christie called the program and similar programs across the U.S. "a front for legalization."New Jersey passed its medical marijuana law in 2009, and former Gov. Jon Corzine, a Democrat, signed it just before Christie, a Republican, took office. The first dispensary opened in December 2012.
But The Star-Ledger reported on Sunday that only 2,342 patients have signed up for the program, despite predictions that legal medical marijuana could help tens of thousands of patients with severe or painful illnesses in the state.Last week, the president and chief executive of Compassionate Care Foundation, Inc. of Egg Harbor Township — one of the state's three medical marijuana dispensaries — announced he had quit because he couldn't keep working for no pay in a struggling industry.Christie said it's clear there is not a demand for medical pot. Grave Digger
Christie is a sack of sh*t and is exactly who we don't need in any position of power, so I'm really glad to hear him mouth off about cannabis as if it was 1946. He's a front for the wholesale purchase of our democracy by the likes of the Koch Bast*rds and similar parasites who'd steal bread from babies if it meant another dollar in their pockets.Let Christie beat his gums all he wants about the evils of cannabis - he's just digging his own political grave. He intentionally limits medical cannabis access to the point where those who need it can't get it - then he points to the limited enrollment in the program as proof there is no demand? We all know he's crooked - now it seems he's a moron as well. Go Christie!
