Oregon -- Kevin Sabet, a leading opponent of marijuana legalization, warned Oregon lawmakers Friday of higher marijuana addiction rates, hospital admissions, teen use and a sophisticated industry that will target young people if the state legalizes the drug.Sabet addressed the Oregon Senate and House interim judiciary committees after being invited to the state by the Oregon Association Chiefs of Police. He spent the week talking about marijuana’s harms with drug treatment professionals, social service workers, police, prosecutors and court officials.
His appearance at the Capitol drew a crowd of marijuana advocates. Sabet painted a grim picture of marijuana, a drug he said offered medicinal potential but is abused and prone to addiction. He cautioned lawmakers against pushing ahead with legalization."What is the rush?" asked Sabet. "We think we need to press pause and at least have a rational debate."Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Sen. Floyd Prozanski, D-Eugene, said Sabet seemed to suggest taking a wait-and-see approach.Prozanski wants to refer a legalization initiative to voters in November -- a strategy he thinks gives Oregonians time to assess Washington and Colorado’s laws. That initiative, if passed by voters, would direct the Legislature to hammer out a law detailing how a legal recreational marijuana market would work.“It seems like you agree with that,” Prozanski told Sabet. No, Sabet said. He acknowledged that Oregonians will likely vote on legalization in the fall, but he said the effort may fail. Sabet, the golden boy of the "Preventionists"
He can't be happy about the New Yorker interview.Or the Post commentary.

And Obama just made him ot a liar
By contradicting his statements in a recent New Yorker magazine interview. I'll bet Sabet is having some fun picking knives stamped with Presidential crests out of his back. The prohibs are getting mixed messages from within their own camp. A sure sign of eventual failure.

Kevin Sabet is a Big Fat Liar
Literally. Were I a fellow prohibitionist, I'd be disgusted that our side couldn't field a more competent and credible spokesperson than this calorie-abusing tub o' lard. Sabet likes to assert that drug legalization has been a disaster wherever it's been tried, but he just affirms how bass-akwards his "thinking" is. In reality, it's Prohibition that's failed wherever it's been tried. Poor delusional Kevin! It's a lot of fun to go the the Oregonian website and read the comments section that appears after this article. Hundreds and hundreds of comments firmly establish that the only people buying Sabet's crap in Oregon are those few who are profiting from Prohibition.

Oregonian missed printing the end of a sentence.
He spent the week talking about marijuana’s harms with drug treatment professionals, social service workers, police, prosecutors and court officials. .. who stand to lose money if cannabis becomes RE-legalized.I know they try hard, however, sometimes newspapers miss the end of paragraphs, but I helped. Actually, it happens too often.
