WINONA-- A special unit of the Minnesota National Guard is helping Winona County authorities eradicate wild hemp that's growing in rural areas.
Twelve members of the National Guard from the Twin Cities, along with representatives of the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, cut down some 500 hemp plants south of Utica on Wednesday, Sheriff Dave Brand said.They also cut down several plants along an area known as German Ridge above Stockton.Brand said young people have been harvesting the hemp and smoking the material, which has a marijuana-like effect.Friday, August 6, 1999 Associated PressNewshawk: Rainbow

Yeah, right!........You could smoke a joint the size of a telephone pole and not get that marijuana-like effect.More government lies!
