While NBC viewers nationwide tuned in last Sunday to see Geraldo Rivera's special report: "Drug Bust: The Longest War," those who watched network affiliate KTVB in Boise, Idaho, instead got a dose of pro-drug war propaganda.
Rather than airing the Rivera special, which criticized several aspects of drug criminalization, the station substituted a pre-taped feature of U.S. Chamber of Commerce President Tom Donohue advocating in favor of stronger drug prohibition policies. "It is hard not to imagine that KTVB's decision not to air the Rivera special wasn't influenced by the station's sponsorship of local anti-drug campaigns," NORML Foundation Executive Director Allen St. Pierre said. KTVB spokesman Doug Armstrong called the preemption a coincidence that was not based on the content of the Rivera special. Armstrong said that the station had received several complaints from viewers about the scheduling change. the show on alcohol and adolescents
I have been going through the titles of shows done by Rivera on MSNBC and can't find the one he did Saturday night, November 4th. The topic was adolescents and alcohol and he showed a couple video taping customers going into a bar across the street from their home and their activities after they had been drinking. Is there anyway I could get a copy of this video? I am a drug and alcohol counselor in a small town in Utah. Thanks! The War On Drugs Goes Bust!
NBC is about as moderate as they come! CBS has been quicker to get any articles up on their web site then NBC. I just know some of the sponsors that NBC uses and it is understandable why it's hard for them to make waves! Here's the articles on Geraldo's Show:

You know I thought they might try that here also
But thank God they didn't! That NBC affliate has been known to change things without a notice all the time. I still belive they probably did not know the true content of the documentary. I think had they known they would have chosen to run something else! The big deal in our state this week is to legislate video poker gambling. They are having a hard time with this piece of legislation and it makes me wonder if they would have a hard time regulating medical marijuana? Just more food for thought..Shalom,old
