Hypocrisy revealed always turns on its owner. I can't remember how many years ago I penned that observation, but I do know I hate hypocrisy wherever I find it, and most particularly when I find it in me. Only those with enough personal integrity will admit to this particular affliction when they discover it in their own bed. All the others will make excuses or simply lie, but hypocrisy is something we all have to deal with from time-to-time, because we're all guilty of it from time-to-time.
The difference between the two approaches to this problem is that those with enough personal integrity will to admit the gaffe, even if just to themselves, always learn and develop even more personal character because of it. The others just remain hypocrites.Rush Limbaugh just admitted he's addicted to prescription painkillers like Vicodin and Oxycontin. Reports in the National Enquirer say old Rush has been obtaining those drugs illegally through private, non-medical sources referred to as illegal drug dealers in the everyday press. It now appears those reports are true.Well, Mr. Limbaugh, your hypocrisy just turned and bit you right in the ass! Aren't you the guy I've heard repeatedly condemning illegal drug use and aren't you also the flaming hypocrite who has repeatedly condemned the idea of drug legalization? You see, Rush, everybody's got an excuse for using drugs, whether they be approved by the Federal Drug Administration, or the product of some meth lab set up in a bathtub. They are all drugs, Rush. Your published excuse is severe pain from a back ailment. But the fact is that you resorted to illegal drug dealers to continue to obtain those painkillers, and federal law says you are a felon for it. You'll never be criminally charged for it, but you're no better than all those druggies you condemned on your radio show repeatedly time after time. Those who promote the use of medical Marijuana for the treatment of various ailments came under fire from Rush Limbaugh as well.In point of fact, God gave us everything we have here on the earth to use in the exercise of our free will. A rock can be used as the cornerstone for the building of a church or a house or a hospital. The same rock can be used to crush the skull of someone we hate.Drugs of any kind, be they deemed illegal or not by human notion, can be used to treat or to destroy, just like alcohol. The instructions God gave us were to use what He gave us in moderation and in wisdom. God never advocated any human law banning the use of any of the substances He allowed us access to. That is why Prohibition failed so miserably, and that is also why the War On Drugs is failing miserably. Attempting to "ban" anything lacks God's own wisdom, because He knows human nature will conflict with it.Those with enough personal integrity, coupled with the wisdom of God, may want to reconsider their long held convictions. The others will just make excuses and lie, and the disastrous consequences of our War On Drugs will continue unabated.Source: Sierra Times.com (NV)Author: Carl F. I'm pretty sure Rush's real name is Rush Limbaugh. The Limbaugh family is quite well known in the area of Cape Girrardo, Missouri.Rush onced used the alias Jeff Christie while a DJ in Pittsburgh I think, but Rush is his real name. I dont think his brother, David Limbaugh, a lawyer who writes for WND would have changed his name to match Rush's.

Thank you for sharing that information. When I went into detox ( I needed help and went in on my own ) the only other woman that was there came in because of alcohol addiction. I had a terrible time but she had a worse time then I did. I suffered quietly and she screamed and screamed and screamed. She left. She couldn't take it. She came in because she accidentially drank a beer can full of gasoline that her son had put in an empty beer can to use it for something or the other and she said she didn't even realize it was gasoline because she had been drinking so much. I met a man in their that showed me a picture of himself from just a few years before and how he looked then and he was dieing because his liver was shutting down. His liver couldn't take anymore alcohol and he probably is dead now. Oh demon alcohol. Sad thing is I can't recall!

I did a little time for violating probabion for posession when i was younger. I saw a couple of hard core alchoholics come in. They were put in population and made to suffer alone. They would scream in pain as their bodies twisted into weird shapes. During the day, the rest of the inmates (all these horrible worthless people) would do whatever they could to help ease the pain, or just hold them down as they convulsed so they didn't hurt themselves while the guards walked by and laughed. At night if their screams got too loud, the guards would take them out of population and put them in a holding cell by themselves to scream. It was the most horrible, inhumane thing i have ever seen.

Thanks BGreen
I went thru detox from Tylenol 4. I had seizures and hallucinations. I will never forget the pain. I hate narcotics. I don't mind if people use them but from my experience use them and get off them as fast as possible and learn to deal with pain. Dealing with pain from an injury is much easier then detoxing off of those legal prescription narcotics.

It's usually a horrible experience, FoM
I know in most of the smaller jails they just lock them up and let them suffer. It's easy to do when you dehumanize them. They're just "druggies," you know. The Reverend Bud Green

A Correction
I meant a person who is getting prescription narcotics illegally and is thrown in jail.

What Happens To an Addict When Thrown in Jail?
If a person is addicted to say prescription narcotics or heroin and gets busted and is thrown into jail how does he or she detox?

But the problem here, Doc, is just as
the author said: "Rush" will never, ever feel the hands of his 'bunkies' grabbing his shoulders and forcing him to 'assume the position' prior to receiving the 'initiation' of a good ol' fashioned prison rape. He'll sleep, safe and sound, in a nice clean hospital bed, surrounded by sycophants catering to the 'celebrity's' whims, as "Rush" (his real name is Roger Christie, folks; why not use it?) is eased chemically through withdrawal with diazepams and sympathy. And, when it's all over? He'll get 'religion'. He'll have truly 'seen the light', and wonder of wonders, Glory Be! will be called upon as an 'expert' on the subject of addictions and treatment. He'll be an even more vicious prohibitionist than he has ever been before. Because as the old saying goes, there's no one who sings louder in church that the converted whore.Expecting a man, who has to have handlers to deflect the occasional pointed, direct question regarding his own 'legal' draft dodge and then calls for others to die for his oily friends, to admit that he's been terribly wrong, is expecting too much. He's made a career out out proclaiming that he knows what is best for the country and castigating those who disagree with him, publicly humilitaing them over the airwaves for the last decade or so. That kind of pride led to this kind of fall. But his friends are busily stacking pillows on the expected impact site, so as not to cause that useful (but integrity corroded) tool to shatter on hitting the ground. He will never be allowed to feel the depth of the contempt he has engendered in TRUE patriots. It's so obvious: THE POLITICAL CLASS TAKES CARE OF IT'S OWN.
