LOS ANGELES Drug Enforcement Administration officials arrested an attorney and his wife in Encino, accusing them of running a high-quality marijuana farm. They seized 10 pounds of pot from their home.
Dale Van Camp, 51, was arrested Wednesday night on suspicion of conspiring to cultivate marijuana, said Special Agent Sharon Carter, DEA spokeswoman. Victoria Van Camp, 43, was arrested on suspicion of possessing marijuana.Agents linked the couple to Randall Lee Stephens, a 48-year-old chemist arrested Tuesday after agents found 860 marijuana plants and 150 pounds of packaged marijuana worth an estimated $5 million at his Canoga Park home.At the Van Camps' home, marijuana plants were hooked to electronically controlled irrigation and lighting, Carter said."This is a sophisticated kind of grow with high-powered halogen lights and fans turned on them," Carter said. "They're like their babies."
