A single father of three was jailed after his teen-age son called 911 and reported marijuana plants were being grown in the family's home.A Covington police officer and a King County sheriff's deputy arrived at the home about 8:20 p.m. Tuesday, barely 10 minutes after the call was made. They immediately recognized the smell of marijuana wafting from the home in the 16800 block of Southeast 254th Place.
While officers were waiting for a search warrant, the father, 38, drove up to the home shortly after 9 p.m. and was arrested without incident.Marijuana apparently had been grown in the home for some time. Investigators aren't sure why the son decided to call police, said Sgt. Greg Dymerski, a Sheriff's Office spokesman.``We really don't know what precipitated this, other than he wanted to do the right thing,'' Dymerski said.Besides the son, 17, a 15-year-old daughter and a 7-year-old son also lived there. They spent the night with ``responsible adults,'' Dymerski said. The father was booked for investigation of violating state drug laws, pending further investigation and filing of charges.Inside the house, officers found a ``hidden room'' in the garage where numerous marijuana plants were being grown, including some ``mature, producing plants,'' Dymerski said.Officers also seized as evidence some dried and ``packaged'' marijuana and drug paraphernalia. They also found three loaded guns, a rifle and two handguns, Dymerski said.A woman who lives in the neighborhood said she has ``an idea who it is,'' but said it could be one of several of nearby residents in what seems to be a quiet and well kept neighborhood. ``I think the kid did the right thing,'' neighbor Conrad Rinehart said last night. ``If somebody is growing marijuana in this neighborhood, I'm glad the kid told police.''``We need to keep that drug crap out of the neighborhood,'' Rinehart said.Journal Reporter Jamie Swift contributed to this story.Complete Title: Son Turns Dad in for Growing Pot - Police Find Hidden Room With Numerous PlantsSource: Eastside Journal (WA)Author: Bruce Rommel, Journal ReporterPublished: May 9, 2002Copyright: 2002 Horvitz Newspapers, Inc.Website: http://www.eastsidejournal.com/Contact: letterstoeditor eastsidejournal.comRelated Articles:A Family Torn by Marijuanahttp://cannabisnews.com/news/thread4146.shtmlMd. Deception. The child has been decieved.
A deluding influence has convinced many, that a plant is a “drug”, including police (separated from the Holy Spirit of Truth by oath), who uphold mans laws over God’s laws. Now, we are left with a child, experiencing the wicked power of caging a human for using a plant, like the taste of blood on the tongue. Perhaps it will leave a foul taste in his mouth, for the better. It would be well if someone would teach that child the Truth according to Christ God Our Father. For presently the child does not know right from wrong. The manual is pretty clear, Do Not Hate Your Brother. (So don’t cage Him for accepting Our Father’s blessings).

Orwell's 1984 is the first thing that crossed my mind when I read about this "child hero". Thanks for that little excerpt observer! This kid probably has no idea how he has just screwed up the life of the entire family. He'll find out soon.Joint Congressional Committee

When Has Violence EVER Stopped Imperialism?
Did the whacko at WACO protect his rights or family? Or Ruby Ridge? Rainbow Farms? Did McVeigh kill babies in Oklahoma in the name of Liberty? The same as the evil destruction of the Towers of Babylon and the Pentigoons, Nothing but more Politico's theivery and treason, including the blue collar politico cops profitting like the Korpses Fascist. The religions are all part of the same rotten system, all of Abraham's children are corrupt. Satire and Embarrassing acts seem to win over the sheople more than violence. Violence is perpetuated to justify retalitory violence and as WoD, perpetuating the war is the major profits. McVeigh would have done better to tye dye the Fed building or make sure no one was in it. Then I believe the message would have been heard. The Palistinians manipulating puppet kids to die the same as the Be All That YOU Can Be Inc. Travel to foreign lands, meet exotic people living in paradise and then KILL them, from 30,000 feet. Join the Harmy, filled with Midwest grain feed football hero's who upon completion will supply our ever growing Prison Industry and Poverty Management Police.

D.E.A.th profits Drugczar Philanthrapy groups with tax write-offs to DARE Partnerships and Pisstasting jobs and higher education out of the kids future. Fascism is the opposite of Capitalism and that lesson isn't even taught. Random acts of kindness bring the same joy as a paycheck buys, taboo. Preventing illness doesn't profit treatment anymore than removing drug laws that are bogus or to purposely let the people have an alternative to the fossil fuel barrons wishes, the 270,000 TONS of chemicals on cotton poisoning farmworkers shunning cannabis, not on wild ditchweed hemp thats softer and stronger. Or the meat/grain industry afraid of hempseed or the Pharm Aids Bushit Cheney and Rumsfeld sell or Booze that keeps the kids mindlessly violent, raging with hormones to create more jobs treating car wrecks and bad dares. Go out to the bar and spend spend spend not like those commies entertained in their living rooms. Competition to prevent G-8 Korpses profits just ain't Bushits idea of America. If the Palistinians grew hemp food, fuel, car bodies, houses, clothing, animal food etc., they wouldn't need Isreal. We the majority, suffer from epidemic Affluenza. Propagated by TV images that are phoney and superficial and curable though difficult with unwilling or unknowing citizenry. Buy used and stop exploiting more resources on newly fabricated trinkets. As Mussolini and W Bushit said, Its us or them. They have the press and the laws and we have the numbers to non violently collect non voters to pass a National Initiative declaring the drug war as a major funding organization of a world terrorist group, perpetuating misery on American citizens.
By now its pretty simple, if you don't see the fascism, you're p[robably profitting on it...

wow, i cant believe that a son would turn in a father for anything short of murder, this kind of story makes me sick to my stomach. i was at the great debate at my college, and an old head made the comment that in 30 years of working at a hospital he had been bitten by drunken people twice, but never by some one who was chuffing the proverbial chuff. That's terrible. I'm really sorry. Kids make decisions that will haunt them for the rest of their life by doing things like this. No one will trust them and that's a sad way to have to live. I hope you can work it out in time.

know the feelin
My son did the same thing , he thought it would help him get out of trouble for staying out all night with some girl(whos parents let him spend the night without my knowledge) I can't wait to send his butt back to his mother. Child support would be cheaper than the problems he has caused me in the last 2 years. Now I have to go to court May 20th for simple possesion. After 20 years of smokin an not getting in trouble this is the thanks i get for trying to be a good father to a lying, thieving, two-faced, backstabbing sob. Most kids only turn in their parents after they don't get their way for something. Then they wonder why we can't control our juvinile deliquents.

History Channel and Hitlers' Youth
I watched this series a few months ago, and they were adamant that WWII went on for years longer than it would have because the brainwashed kids, even preteens, were too enthusiastic and too immature to understand the futility of the German aggression, and were the tools of their Gov't.Hitler knew, DARE knows, and the Amerikan sheeple don't have a clue.Orwells' 1984 was actually pretty optimistic, because Orwell thought that we would at least be safe from Big Brother in total darkness. Even Orwell didn't foresee night vision technology.

High everyone
How could a person relax from the raid on the public treasury and the suffering that is going to follow in the aftermaths of drastic program cuts.I just was thinking about how all the times people say I wish I would have written that down but then I was high. I am writing stuff down and I have medicine and I really just do not feel out of my mind high. I hope everyone knows I do not take this seriously enough to compose a piece in Word to draw on their vocabulary and grammar and spelling. Actually I think my spelling is getting better now that I read more. I should look up obsufucation because it is a word that is highly relevant like corruption, graft, NarcoImperialism, seizures, and THE CHILDREN Chant that comes from those BAHstards up there in those high caves.Today I think of stone throwing. Say like the marijuana laws being walls with the Great Wall being the Medical marijuana wall. I say the Valley of Reason controls that wall and their is a field that we give cover to outside our walls. The last wall is the relegalization law. 40% are on our side of that wall but we cannot raid on their side. They insist on raiding on our side. We should not support the economy of the enemy and we can cast their own stones at them stones when they come over the wall.I am mad with cannabinoids and I may turn into a bat at any time. Me unAmerican? Me a terrorist? I may sell Treason Rocks. When did you end the drug war? You need a Treason Rock documenting the day you joined the Valley of Reason forces. Leave the Valley of Treason and join the valley of reason. Save America and buy 2. Shipping and handling 14.95. Can engrave tombstones for pets on one side and engrave your return to the Valley of Reason forces. Buy three and get free shipping and handling.I wrote this because there are to many people being silent. I may be wrong about some things but I do not want to be guilty of being silent. How about someone saying we need to be sending beans, and rice, and chickens and pigs to Columbia. Don't send anymore money. No more helicopters. Send some little John Deere tractors. No more fortified Roundup. Send hoes and fertiler. This could be wrong but it is not silence. We can change things this November. Remember: We are the 40% that care.Yesterday I bought some day old pumpernicle bread for 50 cents and 3 bannanas at the ripe bannana price of 25 cents a pound. I had one sandwich and must say I thought it very good and definitely a thrifty meal. Time for a 10 cent sandwich. Starve the economy and have a thrifty meal. The true patriots are the American marijuana growers. You are all heroes. VAAI

Dan B....Congress passed 2 resolutions SUPPORTING Israel?...even with all the BS that's going on? Even when the rest of the world is saying Israel is wrong? What the F! # is going on here? Folks, if this resolution goes through... they will send in the military, and the truth is, the US will continue the genocide of muslims....and THERE WILL BE WAR. And when you back poor, frustrated, oppressed people into a corner.....there is no telling what they will do... I am afraid of the results... I REALLY MEAN they will use anything... ANYTHING!!!Our worst nightmare of nuclear OR biological holocaust will be a reality...and the US will deserve it.Can't they see what they are doing? Yes, they KNOW what they are doing....they WANT a war... because then they can brainwash Amerikans into thinking we are RIGHT....and get rid of those "pesky" Arabs...I really mean it this time....but I SOOO wish that last plane hit the Capitol...Congress is a mindless machine that needs to be stopped... and I'm afraid it WON'T happen by "voting"....idbsne1

No Difference
I can make no distinction between the indoctrination of the Hitler Youth and the system that the current regime is attempting to create. What is it going to take to change this? In the words of Bill Maher, 4/20/2002 in SF:"If people don't start dying from this drug
it is never going to be legal so I want you
all to start dying. I am willing to
volunteer myself. Someone try to kill me
tonight. I will be ---- please kill me.
Take me. Let me show you something right
now because unless we can start dying things
don't become legal. I'd love this place to

http://www.bobmarley.com/songs/songs.cgi?warThe Hitler Youth Movement Resource PageShortly after Hitler's rise to power in 1933, all German youth groups were merged into a single, regimented organization called Hitlerjugend, the Hitler Youth. Following the dictator's view that the youth of Germany would preserve the thousand year Reich, all children were heavily immersed in Nazi dogma from the age of 10. To learn more about this organization, click on some of the links provided below.
http://militaryhistory.about.com/library/blhitleryouth.htm"My program for educating youth is hard. Weakness must be hammered away. In my castles of the Teutonic Order a youth will grow up before which the world will tremble. I want a brutal, domineering, fearless, cruel youth. Youth must be all that. It must bear pain. There must be nothing weak and gentle about it. The free, splendid beast of prey must once again flash from its eyes...That is how I will eradicate thousands of years of human domestication...That is how I will create the New Order."
-- Adolf Hitler, 1933.Youth Ceremonies — Rites of Passage for the YouthThe following pieces are the core of Kieckbusch's thorough treatment: 'How Do We Organize Youth Ceremonies?" The proposed organization of the ceremony is taken from last year's ceremonies by Kreisleitung Northeim. It was developed by Party Member Rings. The musical suggestions were developed by Party Member Köhler, head of the Music School for Youth and Nation in Hanover. The remaining material was developed by Gau Education Chief Kieckbusch of Hanover, who prepared this material for the Hoheitsträger and the districts in his Gau. The transition from 14 to 15 is an important event for the youth. Many finish school and leave their parents' home to take up an occupation. The boys move from the Jungvolk to the Hitler Youth and the girls move from the Jungmädel to the League of German Girls. More than that, each youth now has greater independence, which is legally signified by the fact that each German upon completion of the fourteenth year has legal freedom of conscience. Each German at 14 is allowed to choose his faith. His inner beliefs can now become public.

'child hero'
With those children, he thought, that wretched woman must lead a life of terror. Another year, two years, and they would be watching her night and day for symptoms of unorthodoxy. Nearly all children nowadays were horrible. What was worst of all was that by means of such organizations as the Spies they were systematically turned into ungovernable little savages, and yet this produced in them no tendency whatever to rebel against the discipline of the Party. On the contrary, they adored the Party and everything connected with it. The songs, the processions, the banners, the hiking, the drilling with dummy rifles, the yelling of slogans, the worship of Big Brother -- it was all a sort of glorious game to them. All their ferocity was turned outwards, against the enemies of the State, against foreigners, traitors, saboteurs, thought-criminals. It was almost normal for people over thirty to be frightened of their own children. And with good reason, for hardly a week passed in which The Times did not carry a paragraph describing how some eavesdropping little sneak -- 'child hero' was the phrase generally used -- had overheard some compromising remark and denounced its parents to the Thought Police

Less than 10 minutes?!?
"A Covington police officer and a King County sheriff's deputy arrived at the home about 8:20 p.m. Tuesday, barely 10 minutes after the call was made"That's an incredible response time. But I guess there's not a second to lose when it comes to the evil, terror causing marihuana and it's threat to the children. I wonder what's the average time for response to a break-in or serious injury.

Turning in Parents
When I was very young and asked my parents about children turning in their parents for the government's sake how that could ever be right. They said no government is more important that the family and it was very wrong and never should happen in the United States.Look what's happened since that question was answered by my parents years ago.

And the real reason why abortion was legal
I can't remember all of the Internet arguments I got in with feminist friends in the early nineties who were defending the Soviet Union. Honestly they really did keep saying, Well they didn't have a free press but abortion was legal and so it was a better place for women. The REAL reason why abortion was made legal in the Soviet Union was partly because they had a mandatory child support system. If a man fathered a child with someone, the government would come and take a chunk out of his paycheck wherever he worked, and everyone worked for the government so this was easy, and they would place it in the paycheck of the mother of the child.Since Communism was so depressing and there was never anything but ballet and propaganda on TV there was a LOT of adultery. And sexual harassment and rape. The Communist Party leaders foresaw many problems if their pregnant secretaries had to bear their children, because "disrupting a Socialist family" was actually a crime. The Party bosses did not want to be accused of this crime by the husbands of their mistresses or secretaries. And that was the feminist paradise where abortion was legal.Sooviet abortion was purely for the convenience of the most powerful men. It was completely unrelated to feminism, quite the opposite. And now I think it is this reduced appreciation by American feminists of Soviet repression and the consequences it had for the people that has allowed the Drug War to escalate to the degree it has today.

It's just like the Communists all over again
I swear, someone I know really considered turning his parents in for being Jews who spoke against Stalin. The pressure was very heavy in the schools, boys get crushes on teachers and want to please them, and sometimes feel alienated from their own parents for reasons natural to childhood. He was ashamed that his parents were Jews who spoke in secret at home against the Communist Party. He actually considered reporting them. And many children did just that. This history isn't really taught in America, partly because the college curriculum is controlled by well-meaning leftist academics who are still on the defensive about the big failure of Marxism in the Soviet Union. The American right only wanted to beat the Communists to protect their own social privilege, most Republicans never cared about freedom. And the American left was running around blathering complete idiocies like, "Okay, the Soviets don't have a free press, but at least abortion is legal."And that's why we learned almost nothging as a society from watching the Soviet political system collapse under the weight of its own lies.

That's Why They Call Him "Dick"
Here an excerpt from an email I was recently sent regarding Dick Armey's comments advocating ethnic cleansing of Palestine. I thought many here would appreciate it because it speaks to the character of Republicans in general and Armey in particular. I'm hoping this is not a harbinger of things to come here in America, but as you likely know, both houses of Congress recently passed initiatives supporting Israel--by huge majorities. Can "ethnic cleansing" of "terrorist" drug users be far behind?(On May 1st) on MSNBC's highly-rated program Hardball, House Republican Majority Leader Dick Armey ( R-TX) called for the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from the occupied territories and endorsed Israel's conquests of those lands. Armey said that he "is content to have a
Palestinian state" but is "not content to give up any part of Israel for the purpose of a Palestinian state." He defined the Palestinian territories occupied by Israel-East Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza Strip-as Israel. He also said he has "thought this through for a lot of years" and believes that Palestinians living in the West Bank should be removed. Armey stated that "there are many Arab nations that have many hundreds of thousands of acres of land, soil, and property and opportunity to create a Palestinian state." An incredulous Chris Mathews, host of Hardball, repeatedly gave Armey the opportunity to clarify that he was not calling for the ethnic cleansing of all Palestinians from Palestine, but the House Republican chief refused to do so: MATTHEWS: Well, just to repeat, you believe that the Palestinians who are now living on the West Bank should get out of there? Rep. ARMEY: Yes. Armey’s call for the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians is an endorsement of massive war crimes probably rising to the level of crimes against humanity. Armey owes the American and Palestinian people, and indeed the entire world, an immediate retraction and apology. Here’s a transcript of the relevant portion of this interview:

TRANSCRIPT
Hardball with Chris Matthews (9:00 PM ET) - CNBC
May 1, 2002 Wednesday CHRIS MATTHEWS, host: Congressman Dick Armey of Texas leads the Republicans in the US House of Representatives.
Congressman Armey, Mr. Majority Leader, why is the Congress about to pass a resolution supporting Israel at a time that the president is trying to walk a line between Israel and its Arab neighbors? Representative RICHARD ARMEY (Republican, Majority Leader): Well, we've had--we feel very strongly in the House of Representatives that we have a moral obligation to protect the safety, security and freedom of Israel. And the Congress wants to speak on that, both bodies want to do so. We've discussed it with the White House, and everybody is comfortable. We will go--go ahead with that tomorrow. It is very important to the world that Israel be--the freedom of Israel be protected and honored. MATTHEWS: What good is this going to do anybody? Rep. ARMEY: Well, I think, again, we--we want to make the point... MATTHEWS: To whom? Rep. ARMEY: The president of the United States is trying to make a transition in foreign policy from what it has been to what it must be in the future. We can no longer appease aggressors in the Middle East. There obviously will never be a peace. The goal is no Jews between them and the sea, and we must make it very clear that if you want to talk about peace and talk the talk, you must walk the walk, and that must be respect for Israel's right to live freely, safely and securely. MATTHEWS: OK. Let's talk about the realities over there. There's a fight between the Arabs and the--and the Israelis over who owns the Pal--all of Palestine. Do you support the idea that there be a Palestine state alongside Israel? Rep. ARMEY: I am perfectly content to have a Palestinian state alongside Israel if it is a state that honors others borders. MATTHEWS: You are in total, 180 disagreement with Tom Delay who said this week that the entire West Bank belongs to Israel and it belongs to that country that's not an Arab country. Rep. ARMEY: I... MATTHEWS: It should not have a statehood. Rep. ARMEY: No, I'm perfectly content to have a Palestinian state. I am not content to give up any part of Israel for that purpose of that Palestinian state. MATTHEWS: Wait a minute. Tom Delay's, whose resolution you're going to put on the floor tomorrow and schedule, has said that the entire West Bank, he calls it Judean Samaria, belongs to Israel. How can you say that this resolution doesn't support the Delay position which is Israel has a right to grab the entire West Bank? Rep. ARMEY: No, I--I'm content to have Israel grab the entire West Bank. I'm also content to have the Palestinians have a homeland and even for that to be somewhere near Israel, but I'm not content to see Israel give up land for the purpose of peace to the Palestinians who will not accept it and would not honor it. It is time to... MATTHEWS: Well, where do you put the Palestinian state, in Norway? Once the Israelis take back the West Bank permanently and annex it, there's no place else for the Palestinians to have a state. Rep. ARMEY: No, no, that's not--that's not at all true. There are many Arab nations that have many hundreds of thousands of acres of land and--and soil and property and opportunity to create a Palestinian state. MATTHEWS: So you would transport--you would transport the Palestinians from Palestine to somewhere else and call it their state? Rep. ARMEY: I would be perfectly content to have a homeland, just as--most of... MATTHEWS: But not in Palestine? Rep. ARMEY: Most of the people who now populate Israel were transported from all over the world to that land and they made it their home. The Palestinians can do the same, and we're per--perfectly content to work with the Palestinians in doing that. We are not willing to sacrifice Israel for the notion of a Palestinian homeland. MATTHEWS: Right, no. No, that's not the question and that's not your answer. The question here is: What is the future of the Palestinians who are fighting Israel right now? You say there future is somewhere besides Palestine. That runs in the way of US policy going back to 1948. It runs--it runs completely against the president's policy and every policy I've heard a president take, which is that Israel has to give up its settlements on the West Bank and give it back to the Arabs in exchange for peace. You say the deal should be the Palestinians leave? Rep. ARMEY: That's right. Palestinians say the deal should be the Israel--that--that the Israelis leave. MATTHEWS: Have you talked about this with the president? Rep. ARMEY: I happened to believe that the Palestinians should leave. MATTHEWS: Have you ever told George Bush, the president from your home state of Texas, that you think the Palestinians should get up and go and leave Palestine and that's the solution? Rep. ARMEY: I'm probably telling him that right now. This is... MATTHEWS: Have you thought this through? Rep. ARMEY: I have thought this through. I've thought it through for a lot of years. I believe that Israel is the state for the Jewish people. It needs to be honored. It needs to be protected. MATTHEWS: Yeah. That's not what you're saying. You're saying Israel should expand its borders to the Jordan River... Rep. ARMEY: No. MATTHEWS: ...and kick out all the Palestinians? That's what you just said. Rep. ARMEY: I am--I am content to have Israel occupy that land that it now occupies and to have those people who have been aggressors against Israel retired to some other arena, and I would be happy to have them make a home. I would be happy to have all of these Arab nations that have been so hell bent to drive Israel out of the Middle East to get together, find some land and make a home for the Palestinians. I think it can be done. MATTHEWS: So the president, who has been dutifully, for the last couple of weeks, trying to get the Israeli army to withdraw from the West Bank, should stop that, let the Israeli defense force take over the West Bank and hold it and make it part of Israel? You completely disagree with the president's policy then? Rep. ARMEY: I am--I am perfectly content to have Israel hold and occupy the land that it has at this moment. MATTHEWS: Well, how about though-how about the Jenin in Samaria? Tom Delay, whose measure you're putting on the floor tomorrow, says that all the West Bank, Jenin, Judea, Masada, everything belongs to Israel. It's not occupied territory. It's Israeli. Is that your position? Rep. ARMEY: Well, first of all, Chris, I think we have to be real careful on how you are interpreting jo--Tom's provision. I think Tom's provision is principally and primarily that the Jewish people have a right to defend themselves. MATTHEWS: Well, just to repeat, you believe that the Palestinians who are now living on the West Bank should get out of there? Rep. ARMEY: Yes. MATTHEWS: OK. Thank you very much. More with Congressman Dick Armey coming back. You're watching HARDBALL.

Hey that link was interesting!
Hmm some of the things I learned about Morozov were wrong, but I learned them in Russia where people didn't always have the facts because of repression. For sure the statue of Morozov in Krasnaya Presnaya must be gone. In 1991 a lot of statues were torn down. I was assured by my Russian friends that after 1960, there weren't many playgrounds left carrying this awful memory.Everyone in Moscow told me that both his parents were killed by the Communists. Maybe that's just reflective of the lack of accurate history in the country in 1989 when I wad first there. The one important thing to remember is that the Communist system survived by turning family members and friends and co-workers into informants against one another. The same thing we are trying to do to in this country.I wish the Soviet Union still existed because then people would understand the comparison. The American left still can't admit that the USSR was a bad place and a bad system, and the Republicans admit it but don't mind reproducing Lenin's system in God's name. And now both the Democrats and Republicans don't really care how much of their system we imitate.

That's why I didn't want Elian to go back to Cuba
That Pavlik Morozov story is totally true. They used to have public playgrounds in Moscow devoted to his memory. They remaned most of them after Khrushchev's "secret speech" to the Central Committee in 1956 admitting that what they'd been through under Stalin had been a reign of terror that had destroyed the best and brightest in the country and in the Communist Party itself too.I have a friend who was very psychically damaged by the story of Pavlik Morozov. He was taught the story in school, he was being encouraged to turn his parents in because his father was Jewish and the Doctor's Plot was being pushed by Stalin as the start of a new purge. And he actually considered turning his parents in. He wanted to please his teacher. He was a child, he believed in the system. And the guilt from that still haunts him today. No doubt there were many suicides over Pavlik Morozov in the USSR.Pavlik Morozov's parents were executed by the Revolutionary Committee, but Pavlik himself died even more terribly. He was torn apart by a mob of angry villagers now facing starvation because all the food they'd been hiding from the Communists was "requisitioned" from them and sent to Moscow. And that's why I was against Elian being sent back to Cuba -- because in Cuba, all the children are raised to be little Pavlik Morozovs.

Another civic minded 'hero'...
E_J, you probably know much more about this than I ever will:Pavlik Morozov 1918(?)-1932
http://www.tiac.net/users/hcunn/rus/morozov.htmlFrom the srticle:Pavlik Morozov, supposedly killed by "kulak" relatives for denouncing his father to Stalin's secret police (OGPU-NKVD), was adopted as a patron saint by the "Young Pioneers," the Soviet equivalent to the "Boy Scouts." His life exemplified the duty of all good Soviet citizens to become informers, even at the expense of family ties.Yep...this is what DARE teaches you, all right...

Just a Note
Hi Everyone,
I've been archiving articles and experimenting with how I can expand C News while I'm waiting for my satellite to get hooked up so here are three current articles I just archived instead of posting on the front page. These articles will be in the search feature within one day of posting the article.

Coletta Wants To Make Sure Drug Paraphernalia Not Present at Future County-Sponsored Events

The next time Collier County Parks and Recreation throws a party for the community, one county leader wants to be certain vendors aren't selling anything inappropriate — like drug paraphernalia.

Commission Chairman Jim Coletta has asked County Manager Tom Olliff to review the language in county contracts for arts and crafts vendors and to add wording that would prohibit the sale of drug paraphernalia and tobacco products.

Coletta made his request after he received a complaint about ceramic pipes, believed to be used to smoke marijuana, being sold at the Country Jam 2002 on April 12-13.

No Sanctuary From Colombian War
Through the night and toward dawn last Thursday, Saint Paul the Apostle Church rang with prayer and song as a battle raged outside in the darkness. More than 300 townspeople filled Bellavista's only concrete building to escape house-to-house combat between Colombia's two largest irregular armies.
But shortly before noon, the war found them. A crude bomb lobbed by leftist rebels collapsed the roof of the church killing 117 people, a third of them children, survivors said.
"The bomb hit and the ruins fell on top of all my children," said Heiler Martinez, a farmer whose five daughters and pregnant wife died in the church, along with 16 other relatives. "With the impact, I started running outside, I was crazy. Then I returned and started looking for my family, and found them there in a group. All of them dead. They were all destroyed."

It’s Time for Tough Questions About Drug Law
They were out on Manhattan's Third Avenue yesterday: the retired judge, the pardoned former prison inmate, the prison reformers, the drug-policy people, the treatment-program people, the recovering addicts, a handful of lawyers and, as always, the relatives of those in prison.
People like Evelyn San.chez, 62, whose son has spent a decade in Attica and is still counting, and Minerva Dones, 76, whose grandson has spent seven years in the Greenhaven State prison facility in upstate New York.

Have a pill and a cig
"We need to keep that drug crap out of the neighborhood,"This seems to be an honest statement. It breaks down when the treasonist try to include a marijuana as crap though. Hey, treason is crap. Can we agree on that. Yes, I realize that truth is the great terror to the government. Truth is the great benefactor of the public good in my world.I just cannot seem to agree with the government on anything. One of us has to be wrong and in helping the fencewalkers decide I must say on my behalf, I am not the one speaking with corrupted tongue. The drug wars are treason. VAAI

Pot-Growing Dad Busted by Teenage Son
Source: Associated Press
Published: Thursday, May 09, 2002
 Copyright: 2002 Associated Press

Covington, Wash. — A teenager who was tired of a marijuana growing operation next to his bedroom called authorities to have his father arrested, King County sheriff's deputies say.
"The kid was being forced to sleep near where the drugs were growing," sheriff's Sgt. Greg Dymerski said. "We're talking about a 17-year-old being subjected to obvious felony offenses."
The case arose after the boy called 911 Tuesday evening and said his father was growing marijuana at their home in this suburb southeast of Seattle, Dymerski said.
"The kid said he was sick and tired of being around drugs and sick and tired of his dad doing drugs," Dymerski said. "He's a good kid, and his conscience got the best of him."
The 38-year-old divorced father was arrested when he arrived home about 9 p.m., and deputies found pot plants growing a hidden room in the garage as well as drug paraphernalia and loaded guns in the home.
Dymerski said deputies seized at least 40 marijuana plants, bags of dried and ready-to-sell buds and scales to measure the crop.
"They could smell the stuff two or three houses away," Dymerski said.
Court records indicate the man was convicted of a drug felony in 1997 and was sentenced to community service.
The boy, his 15-year-old sister and their 7-year-old brother were turned over family friends for the night.
Sheriff's deputies don't encourage children to inform on their parents for minor infractions but were happy to get the call in this case, he added.
"I think he was pretty upset about it, turning in Dad," Dymerski said, "but the bottom line is, he did the right thing."

the trouble with naive idealism
All the costs of the arrest described here, and all the ensuing costs for years to come, will be accounted as growth in the US gross national product. Here's an article that includes a quote from Bobby Kennedy in 1968, shortly before he was killed:http://commondreams.org/views02/0509-05.htmHere's part of the quote:"Too much and too long, we seem to have surrendered community excellence and
community values in the mere accumulation of material things. Our gross national
product - if we should judge America by that - counts air pollution and cigarette
advertising, and ambulances to clear our highways of carnage. It counts special
locks for our doors and the jails for those who break them. "It counts the destruction of our redwoods and the loss of our natural wonder in
chaotic sprawl. It counts napalm and the cost of a nuclear warhead, and armored
cars for police who fight riots in our streets. It counts Whitman's rifle and Speck's
knife, and the television programs which glorify violence in order to sell toys to our
children."I seldom offer any reasons for optimism, although I'm waiting for the results of the November elections before leaving the planet. I expect we'll have another war on by then to aid Americans in their decisions. Violence and ignorance have become our society's ideals, and government policies empower primarily the violent and the ignorant. That's where all the tax money to be expended on this home invasion and the destruction of a family will go: to air-headed social workers, cops and cop equipment, prosecutors, jails and jail guards....I wonder what federally funded expressions of our government's ideals will be witnessed in Alaska this fall as voters there are offered the chance to end the war against cannabis.

The government encourages this scenario, and even suggests it in the DARE program. It smacks of the Hitler Youth. Absolutely no good comes of it, only shattered lives.

Emailed the editor
I wrote to the editor expressing my feelings about the other two children. And how they will statiscally will be more apt to try harder drugs in an ebvironment without a Father. Remember that study? I should dig that up. It sounded like junk scinece but this is how it all unfolds. It is truly a shame that this kid runined the lives of his siblings because of an obviuos grudge. It sounds like with three children, his neighborhood, and the econonmy the way it is now, it was extra income to support that ingrate. It is funny because when I was 17, I was the one getting kicked out of my house for growing, I am regretful because I put my parents in situation they did not need. Too much government, too many bleeding hearts, not enough compassion for the truly ill, poor policies, greedy pols...........blah blah blah

teenagers...
are loose cannons. If a parent has a crappy relationship with his/her children, they can expect the child to "get even".What the kid can't understand is that he will pay the higher price in loss of trust as well as loss of a stable(?) environment. Remorse won't change that. Too little, too late.In this father's shoes, I would let the authorities have this kid. They deserve him.

How they won't report what happens 6 months down the road when the kid is put into a foster home and loses all his friends, and decides to try drugs for himself.
