The first batch of federally approved medical marijuana is available for shipment, Health Canada said Friday. "Marijuana from Prairie Plant Systems will be made available to researchers and patients who have received licences to possess," a department official said. The department signed a contract last year with Prairie Plant Systems to grow pot in an abandoned mine in Flin Flon, Man., as part of a government policy to make the drug available to Canadians for medical purposes.
The contract required that the first supply be ready by Jan. 1, 2002 with a minimum THC level - the active ingredient in the plant - of five per cent. "This has been accomplished and a quality testing is complete," the official said. Health Canada will now contact some 680 patients approved to use medical marijuana to find out if they're interested in receiving some. The department will begin distributing the product early in the new year. A final decision on a distribution mechanism will be made once the Health Department gets patient feedback. Under rules governing medical marijuana use, patients can grow their own marijuana, have someone grow it for them or receive it through Health Canada. "Any distribution will have to ensure three things: privacy, security and reliability," the official said. An Environics poll in the fall suggested 86 per cent of Canadians support making marijuana available for medical purposes. I am so proud to be a part of you fine folks!
This group of activists are the best I have seen anywhere, if all where as self-less as yall this would have been over years ago. We have built the one thing missing from US today-- Community, this is why kids are like a candle in wind today. Isolation has allowed the gov't to twist every concept in PC doublespeak. Divisions abound today and they depend on them to keep movement divided. We all have much more in common than any other group in world, '96 being a judge in Cannabis Cup in A-dam showed me how this plant can bring groups together who normally hated each other, and in total harmony. If all oppressed folks got together we would roll over tyrants quick and they know it. Cannabis can heal and bridge the gap of race and religion better then anything else. I will hound Health Canada til they give this to all who need it, I have kept my gift out of news in order to have leverage with info, see were it goes. Me and several others are putting together a company to research and produce medical cannabis in all forms... Wait until yall see who CEO is(it's certainly not my country butt), keep fingers crossed as we are raising venture capital now and we'll see were it goes- much in flux now, big changes in wind, we are going to win just a matter of time. I would like to take a moment to thank you for all you have done for the people. You are showing us that we can safegaurd part of this wonderfull place we call earth. I have wondered and tried to get a hold of Mr. Carter and tell him thanks for making a huge seed bank in Alanta Ga.I don't know if he has Cannabis there or not but the concept is worth supporting. Again Herbdoc215 you are a walking, breathing, real live example of what is ment when we were told many moons ago that it is not what enters a mans mouth that he be judged by its what comes out that defiles him. Mike:) Happy Holidays to all of FOMs great readers

They promised me that it would be given out?
I gave Health Canada my seeds(1.6 million dollars US worth, gratuitous) after they tried to grow confiscated stuff from RCMP with a 6% germination level, and an artificial LIMIT of 5% for 1st crop ( I honestly didn't think we had any strains that weak ) imposed my Law, after that we could increase content as needed. My problem is with percentages in general, percent of what overall THC VS CBD of cannabidoid profile, percent of plant roots and all, or percent of 1 gram of bud trimmed( then still subjective because of cultural practices ) all of which is what happens when politicians play scientist! I was supposed to be given job in Flin Flon BUT after I ran from Herr Lewis in Humboldt they said I was too hot to wait one year, gratitude huh. But Canada has one thing and thats an honest and caring minister in charge of research program who has given it his all to see program succeed and I only wish I could name him so all could thank him for his bravery. Now all 300+ strains that I gave Health Canada have been cleansed it means that any legit researcher no longer has to beg UMISS and crooked DEA for material, Health Canada owns them permanatly and only leased them to Prarie for 5 years, and then I think they were not given all strains, only reps of each catagorie. We bred these seeds from A-dam, Ky., Humboldt, and BC strains to give cross section of best in world so REAL research can be done with a palitable product, and I also put my lifes work beyond that little small minded red-neck, destroying pig Lewis and his ilk, boy did it piss off DEA that I brought my seeds up here and GAVE them to his counter part in Canada, and they were then hand carried all through channels and I can't wait til patients see this stuff as they will shit, sign me up for a deliveries from gov't! Have fun shopping. I think we have almost every CD of The Moody Blues. They are my favorite group of all. There music speaks to me. I love it. Tell Jean she has good taste. I never heard any Moody Blues until I met my husband many years ago and I was like a wide eyed child. We're leaving soon and I know there are news articles I could post but I really want to keep the news as hopeful as can be expected during this holiday. We don't need to be fired up for a few days. Christmas is a time of reflection more then anything to me. A time of peace and being with the ones you love and being content with what we have in our lives. That's joy to me. I'm listening on the satellite radio to this wonderful mellow New Age music on a channel called Atmospheres. I am getting my mind set right to face the crowds at the store later today. I'm glad we have a few dollars to spend because we've had years where there was no money. Enjoy your time with your family. Nothing is ever more important then them.

sorry I posted this incorrectly the first time...Britain Announces Plan to Abolish Arrests For Marijuana Possession
Pot to Be Reclassified by Spring, Declares Top Government Official
London, England: Possession of marijuana will no longer be an arrestable offense, Britain's Home Secretary David Blunkett announced Tuesday, in a move marking the first major relaxation of England's pot laws in 30 years. Under the new national policy, marijuana will be reclassified as a "Class C" or "soft" drug, putting it in the same category as anti-depressants and steroids.
"In spite of our focus on hard drugs, the majority of police time is currently spent handling cannabis offenses," Blunkett said, noting that nearly 7 out every 10 British drug arrests are pot-related. "It is time for an honest and common sense approach focusing effectively on drugs that cause the most harm. Peace,Air Jose

I just wanted to jump in and wish you, Jean and your family a Merry Christmas. We are going shopping tomorrow and buy a few things for Christmas. Today we ordered Pink Floyd's Double CD called Echoes. It has 29 songs of their best music and it was on sale at Circuit City's web site for $15.99 and it has been advertised on tv for $29.00. Have a safe and peaceful holiday if I don't talk to you before Christmas!

5%?
i'll be interested to find out if they made an effort to eliminate the male plants...were the buds kept intact or ground up like the mississippi U.S. govt. weed is... stems, seeds and prerolled...5% THC content makes their product less than half the potency of most strains of medical cannabis..STEVE TUCK! i'd sure appreciate your comments, please...had a nice chat with jeff jones yesterday...i'm impressed with his mood..very optimistic...talked politics in general for about 20 minutes...
