OK, So I Don't expect people to sing, ''Oh say can you see, by my car's MPG.'' But it is more than a bit ironic that we are at war in the region of the world where the politics of oil lay barely beneath the surface yet we insist on driving ourselves to our lowest fuel efficiency in 20 years. In its annual report on what cars get in miles-per-gallon of gasoline, the Environmental Protection Agency revealed that this nation, despite all its ancillary angst over having to make friends with undemocratic Islamic regimes of the Middle East in the hunt for Osama bin Laden, has chosen dependency over sacrifice.
Our addiction to sport utility vehicles has dropped the efficiency of America's fleet of passenger cars to 24 miles per gallon, nearly 2 miles per gallon less than in 1988. The percentage of oil that we import has reached an all-time high of 54 percent. Two thirds of our oil consumption goes toward transportation. Americans now burn up 4 million imported barrels of oil a day. The bill for that oil is $2 billion a day. Those figures are likely to become worse. Less than 6 percent of the cars and trucks for 2002 can claim to surpass 30 miles per gallon. Meanwhile, 38 percent of the vehicles headed for the showrooms average less than 20 miles per gallon. The figures are so bad that EPA Administrator Christine Todd Whitman and Energy Secretary Spencer Abraham are coming stunningly close to saying that fuel efficiency is a patriotic duty. Abraham said, ''Reducing our nation's dependence on imported oil is crucial to our national energy security, now more than ever before.'' Whitman added, ''In addition to helping conserve energy, consumers who purchase these fuel-efficient cars and trucks are helping to protect the environment as well.'' So you SUV owners can no longer say that all this whining about gaz-guzzling cars comes from purple-haired hippies at Greenpeace. Abraham, the former US senator from Michigan, is a staunch ally of the automotive industry. He also received more than a quarter of a million dollars from oil and gas interests in his losing bid last year for reelection. So when Abraham and Whitman say ''our growing thirst for transportation fuel'' is an issue of ''energy security,'' you would think Americans might start paying attention. Not yet. Americans insist on the comfortable war, risking the lives of men and women in an expedition against terrorism but surrendering to the Expedition at home. In World War II, ordinary Americans were limited to three gallons of gasoline a week. Today, we are unwilling to add three miles per gallon to our cars. More accurately, we are on the verge of losing three miles per gallon, compared with 1988. No one could doubt the seriousness of Americans 60 years ago. In this new war, the oil potentates in the Arab world must be laughing at us behind closed doors. Angry Americans are screaming about how this is a war for freedom. Yet even as we sincerely mourn the loss of between 5,000 and 6,000 people in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, we refuse to attend AA meetings. Congress has so far refused to go to Autoholics Anonymous. Doped up by the auto lobby, the House in August rejected a proposal to raise the average gas mileage of the nation's fleet of SUVs, vans, and light pickup trucks from 20.7 miles per gallon to 27.5 mpg. The vote to let SUVs off the hook was 269-160. Consumers have so far refused to go. Even though the size of the American family has shrunk in the last half century, and Americans are fatter than ever before, drivers have invented every excuse possible to own a car the size of a house and bearing the moniker of ''sport-utility.'' The potentates must be laughing because a nation that once truly sacrificed its daily desires in wartime is more hooked than ever to a foreign gas pump needle, oozing black heroin into the veins of our behemoth vehicles and into our national vanity. America may or may not capture or kill Osama bin Laden. What is sure is that when the war on terrorism is over, the oil dealers will still have us in their grip. As we have too often found out in our turbulent dealings in the Middle East, we have too often injected ourselves with this black heroin, realizing much too late that we shot up with a dirty needle. Thank you FOM and Rambler...
The rising sign changes every two hours, all twelve signs in a day, and the meaning of your rising (or ascendent) is related to your appearance and the way you see the world and the way the world sees you. It also determines the house positions or (areas of life) so the more accurate the better. Let me know if you find the exact time. The offer stands FOM, I couldn't resist offering something in thanks for this forum and your kind service. I get most of my questions answered here somehow (C-News). Really! So thank YOU!

What can I say, except that your reading is astounding!
Thank You.
I think you may have hit the nail, with quite a stout blow to the head,or if you didnt hit him in the head, your hammer came so close that it scared the crap out of that poor nail.(you'll be hearing from his attorneys).
Just one question;how important was the exact time of birth?I couldnt find my birth certificate,so I relied on my foggish memory for the time.

Rambler,
Wow! The last 5 years have been quite the roller coaster ride but things get great again after your birthday. Sun in Aquarius= Humanitarian, big thinker, inventive, and high intellect. Sagittarius moon: Independent, freedom loving, expansive and opinionated, but usually spot on! Mars and Saturn in Sag have given you a difficult emotional life, but you philosiphize your way out of things. Your positive about the future, just not sure why! Luck comes at the last minute though, and thats nerve wracking isn't it? Uranus (your ruling planet) at the last degree (29TH-OUCH) in the sign of Cancer. Family and mother disasters. Of which you get to be the hero and save the day. Hard to be you sometimes, but you get to be popular in exchange. Back to that degree, the 29th is critical, now or never aspect of your life. And your moniker, Rambler really describes your inner self (Sag) your energy (Mars) and your life purpose (philosopy, computers, expansion and travel). Your rising is Scorpio, which keeps you honest and psychic, can fix things and troubleshoot. Built in Lie detector, and very passionate and deep. All in all, a life of reward for previous suffering in other lifetimes for your outlook on life, and your big heartedness comes from Pluto and Jupiter in Leo, which has also made the last five years or more rather difficult and full of emotional changes, but for the better. Your experiencing a Grand Trine in Water signs, which gives you powers of healing, compassion, listening and emotional experiences that aren't always pleasant, but turn out well in the end. Tom Cruise has the same thing, so don't take your luck for granted this year, as you may have too much of it. Procrastination is ok though, as the last minute is your time to shine. Move, travel and take risks' as they pay off for you. Hope this helps! Let me know!

New Mexican thank you for the offer. I don't want to know my future though. The future is much more scary then the present so I live here and now only. Please don't take offense because I believe it is important for some people and a wonderful thing for those who want to know but for me I'll find out the future when I get there. I'm very strange! I never said I wasn't. You live in cyberspace and you can just call me Hal! LOL!

If you want to post your birth data, and your husbands', (time, place, date) I'd love to chart your future, as that is my day job, and charting the past is what I do in the evening. I reside in outer space, but cyber space is the next best thing to being there. If you would like the reading private, i'll e-mail it to you after you've given me your data. My way of saying 'Thanks'

Thank you and I'm just one person who wants to make a little bit of a difference in others lives before my time is up. I have no reason except the fact it makes me feel good inside when I can help someone someway. I've been lucky in my life and we had plenty of money for a number of years and I bought so much stuff and then more stuff from horses to horse trailers to new cars to a big new motor home and it left me feeling so empty. Many things have transpired since those days and I learned that riches in ones life are only measured by what we do for others. Those blessings are better then any amount of money I ever had and cast to the wind. An example of something nice that made me feel good. When we went to the VA Hosptal the last time I met a woman who was in her mid 70s I think and she asked me if I knew where the restroom was for her husband. She then added that he had Alzheimers and she said that all of this was getting very hard to take. My husband took him to the restroom but he didn't know that he had Alzheimers and we were signing out and I noticed he hadn't returned. I couldn't leave until my husband went and got him and took him back to his wife. I said that to say this. We never know how a little act of kindness might be something very important to someone else so we should always think how can we be an angel in disguise for someone.

Am I wrong about the police state?
dddd: you are absolutely right, but i'd love to hear an oppossing veiw. I don't think you find one here, but go to a CNN chat and you find corporate defenders galore. Thanks FOM for the artlicle, 70,000 in India! The peace movement is off an running and shrub-boy will go way to far to stop it and it will backfire. Look at Viet Nam. Oh, and by the way, remember how fired up we were about the lack of coverage on Columbia, I think that has changed now and the Columbian people will now see the US for what it is. A Terrorist State. Same as the drug warriors being the drug cartelsbest friend and supporter as they have benefited the most, wouldn't you say? I like the end times, being that the truth shall prevail, but I keep wanting to know the ending which I'm sure will be the biggest surprise! Fom, I understand your feelings, but God has made it perfectly clear from the start, thou shall not kill, end of story.
Any alteration on that is an excuse by the military-industrial complex that waves religion around like an American flag while laughing all the way to the bank, I hope you understand my pacifism, as Ghandi said, an eye for an eye will leave us all blind! Here's more on the Essenes, you seem like a highly spiritual person so i'll assume you are. In a way, I put people like you on the same pedestal I do Christ, Buddha, Ghandi, and others of similiar stature, due to the sacrifices you make daily with yourhusbands'health, web workload, and the position you've put yourself at C-news as our guiding light, well mine anyway!

it is very clear to me that the popular media are in league with the federal government... the purpose is keep us in the dark about events both here and abroad...the only weapon we have is the internet...it is time for ALL the alternate news organizations, and all their readers to share any news they hear, see or read...only by sidestepping the mainstream media can they be embarrassed into reporting things like the DEA/mollie fry incident...ideas?

...Notice,,,there seems to be no shortage of reports about some of the protests against the US in Pakistan, but protests here in the states, are on backpages,as if they were insignificant...... Here's a question;..Am I involved in a misplaced obsession about the federalized media? Are there people out there who think I'm sortof off my rocker in sounding the alarm about this?Is there someone out there who thinks that I have blown this way out of proportion?.....I invite anyone with an opposing viewpoint to tell me what they think. ...dddd

Yes,,,Rather shocking,,and quite disturbing
...New Mexican points out ,,,the near total blackout of news regarding dissent, and protests...What we have is an obviously federally controlled, and monitored media.....and like I keep saying,,that is the scariest thing of all,,,that is the key to public control....It makes all other problems pale in comparison,,,and when you consider the chances of ever regaining an actual nationwide free press,it makes the overall outlook quite grim....dddd

Thanks! I will check out the links. I haven't really looked closely for any news about Peace protests so there could be some articles and I've missed them. My mind hasn't been able to find the time to look for Peace yet if that makes sense? I am a Peaceful person but it will be a while before Peace protests accomplish what they must if we ever can possibly return to a normal world whatever that is. I see people following how they feel and that's good because when you feel you should stand for something you should STAND. What I mean is we need Peace protesters to counter the War Mongers if that makes sense or Lord knows how fast the world could self destruct. That's why I don't get upset if someone is for war or if someone is against war because when it's all said and done they both will have been necessary. I sure hope you understand because it is hard for me to put how I feel in a comment.

12-15,000 in Washinton,dc, last Sunday, little, if no coverage. Same in San Francisco. No Coverage. Thousands in NYC, no coverage. What country do we live in?
Yesterday in London, up to 50,000 protesters gathered in Trafalgar Square, in Germany, up to 40,000. No coverage, and from what you've stated FOM you watch (monitor) the news. The fact that you haven't heard about these protests' is proof of a CIA controlled press in the US. Home invasions immenent. The World must come to the rescue of American citizens who have been lied to by their government, media and corporate masters. Many more protest everywhere. Just go to www.indymedia.org and read the newswire. This is a very exciting time in the world and we need to get out there and be involved as much as possible. All roads lead back to the drup war. Indymedia.org is our press and we are the journalist (as we are here) We have to go to news sources outside of the U.S. as we no longer (and haven't had) a free press for years. Think of Monica and Bills crotch. Seriously, that is not freedom of the press, that was not free speech, that was a diversionary tactic that was proven to work (bush selected and installed, now world war III). That was high propaganda of the Geobbels variety. Now look at where this country is and wonder why the world is disgusted by both America and the Taleban, there is no difference. We created Bin Laden and And help pave the way for the Talaban. Now, Millions will die from bush1 and bush2 (Columbia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Central America, Chile, the list goes on and on.. and not a word uttered about his involvement in the war machine, Carlyle group partnership with bin laden, etc). Bush Sr. was supposedly involved in the Kennedy assasination (hard to beleive isn't it) and that was truly the end of the birth of democracy, now democracy grows up in the hands of other countries, we just got the ball rolling. It has taken 40 years and a blatant coup de etat to wake us up! The sixties will seem like a love fest compared to what is ahead. On the other hand, great things will come from our adversity. Peace be with you all!

Thank you. I appreciate it. My husband is really sick today and I'm taking care of him and trying to keep my eyes on some news and comment here too. I knew he was getting sick a few days ago but he hasn't been this sick since the end of June so there has been some time for him to get his strength back before he got hit with it again. It sure doesn't go away. They don't give drugs because they are so expensive unless his Liver enzymes are up over two tests taken 6 months apart. They just took blood so we'll know next month when he is to go to the VA Doctor for his 6 month checkup if his enzymes are up.

I like that. That's really nice. What Peace Movement? I haven't seen any. I haven't looked though. Are there links? I know that war will only make more war but I also believe that war can't be stopped when it just starts. Someone has to give up. It doesn't appear anyone is willing to surrender because it is just getting underway. Too much anger yet. When we lose lots of our young men then people will start to think Peace. What a shame too. Until it hits home things will keep going on like this I think.

Here's one solution.....
go to:http://www.peacebreath.com/breath.html and pass it on!If we all focus on peace, forgiveness, love, and releasing anger, we will arrive at heavens gate effortlessly, if not we will arrive at heavens' gate forcefully. Let's organize, and join the peace movement. The war on us is our best example of what our government is willing to do to continue exploiting the earth and it's peoples. We know firsthand!
Let's get the message out as pro-peace equals ending the war on druuuuuugs. The movement is huge and we need to facilitate it as it is our last and only chance of avoiding the doomsday scenario bush fantasizes about in front of news cameras. He really is our best bet at making the sheople wake up (out of fear of course.) Six months from now everything will be different and we need to postition ourselves for that time.
Several posters here would make great columnist' for indymedia or maybe C-news could create a editorial board made up of dddd, kap, mayan, dan b, dr. russo. and many others who I find to be the most enlightened writers of the day, and need to be heard and read by more than just me (and others readers here) and snooping journalists who have run out of inspiration. (Thats fine with me, but i'd like to pass out a printed version of these important insights to everyone I know)
What do you think FOM? In all my surfing, I always find C-news posters ahead of the curve and constantly re-evaluting new info. I see big things ahead for all of us, and now is the time. Any comments or suggestions? Love to all and love you MOTHER!

It is very hard for me to post anything with any religious meaning because some people get very upset so I just am afraid too. I just believe that they are battling for what both religions feel is their holy land. If that is their mind set then war will continue. HEMP BIODIESEL COST?
Is hemp biodiesel
expensive because we do not
have enough produced as well as
efficient factories to process it?
In other words is the very plant itself
not economically competitive
or is it an infrastructure thing?
Tough question but
I was wondering if anybody knew. And about that Christian/Jewish/Muslim
middle east thing. My impression is that all
three faiths are very similar in that
love, peace and forgivness are ideals
of each. If there has been so much bad history
in Israel between the Israelites and the
Palestinians that they cannot conceivably live
 together
then Israel should spend whatever it takes
to buy them all out and give them nice
houses elsewhere - like Jordan or Lebanon
or anyplace they want to go and would accept
 them.
Throw in some perks to get them started -
medical care, food, education, cars for a few
years and thats the end of the problem.
There is only about 3 to 6 million
Palestinians so it would not be that
many billion
to do this. I would guess somewhere between 10
and 70 billion. Stuff over there is cheap.
Then Israel can have all its historic lands
and the poor palestinians living in crappy
camps can get
a decent life. Makes sense to me but I
do not live there. Just my .02 Euros.

My Feelings
Let me see if I can say what I believe this is all about. We have been defending Jerusalem because we were told that we are suppose too. The Jews are God's chosen people. Now please remember I am saying what I'm saying because this is what I learned many years ago while in Church. The Dome of the Rock is occupied by the Muslim Nation but the Jews also feel it is their Holy Ground. They both lay claim to the land that the Dome of The Rock is built on. It says it will be destroyed and then rebuilt. Most Jews and Muslems know this so they will always fight. I know nothing about the Muslim religion but this is what I know.
Dome of The Rock
http://www.sacredsites.com/1st30/domeof.html
Jerusalem, by virtue of the number and diversity of people who have held it sacred, may be considered the most holy city in the world. To the Jewish people it is the Biblical Zion, the City of David, the site of Solomon's Temple and the eternal capital of the Israelite nation. To Christians it is where the young Jesus impressed the sages at the Jewish Temple, where he spent the last days of his ministry and where the Last Supper, the Crucifixion and the Resurrection took place. Also greatly venerated by the Muslims, it is where the prophet Muhammed ascended to heaven. While highly charged with intense religious devotion and visited by countless pilgrims and sages, Jerusalem has also been ravaged by thirty centuries of warfare and strife. It is a place of beauty and divinity, mystery and paradox; a sacred site which no modern spiritual seeker should fail to experience.
They hate us because we have not been kind to those who weren't Jewish over there. We've killed them and they hate us.
PS: I hope this makes a little sense. If not I gave it a try.
PSS: This is a religious war and it could lead to the final war. I don't mean to scare anyone.

Bio Diesel
right now my understanding is that b20--that is twenty percent of bio-diesel mixted with regular diesel is on the market. Some marine ports are making it a rule to use in certain waters. Also some trucking companys are running it in innercity areas, that have been mandated by clean air laws. It is currently made from soy bean oil.It is called trancertification cooking the bean gets esters that make the diesel fuel and a by product glycerine which makes a environmentally friendly antifreeze. I hear it would be to costly to use hemp oil. That is why the Ethanol fuel is up and comming. The new type of feed stocks being used are cellouse in form. Like all the corn plant or shugar cane or shugar beet. or rice straw. and switch grass. That way the whole plant is used. But to get back to the question 0f if a regular diesel engine can run on bio- is yes it can. The first diesel engines ran on vegtable oils. It was a guy named Dr Rudolph Diesel I beleive was the first to make a engine like it, thus the name Diesel. With boats and trucks there are other uses like indoor in mines and generators close to public places. The only number I have is for the National SoyDiesel Development Board PO Box 104898,1907 Williams St. Jefferson City, MO. 65110-4898
800-841-5849 314-635-3893 phone--- 314-635-7913 fax this info is many years old. I use to get a Bio Diesel Report from Biodiesel Info Center - 2405 grand Ave. Suite 700 --Kansas City Missouri 64108- phone 816-474-9407--fax 816-474-7783

maybe the 9/11 attacks are the opening gambit of a very tricky and devious plot. bin laden was blustering months ago about "imminent attacks" and now is threatening 2 bushes, blair, sharon and telling muslims in u.s. to stay out of planes and tall buildings. it's as if he's trying to draw attention to himself and divert it from others. iran is populous and powerful, far more than the taliban. and considering the symbolic nature of the september targets, perhaps there is a consipracy to lure an aircraft carrier into harm's way. cruise missiles are very hard to stop, a dozen of them simultaneously impossible. http://google.yahoo.com/bin/query?p=Iran+%22cruise+missile%22&hc=0&hs=0i think richard maybury is right: we ought to just get out of chaostan altogether and let these crazy people fight among themselves if that is what they wish. we're wasting billions of $ over there that could be better spent on unemployment benefits for federad dept of education, DEA FBI IRS HUD etc.PAZ

fair's fair
and if I ask people to read the links I post, I'll look at other links too. But I'm disgusted by antisemitism and a few paragraphs of the compuserb.com link was more than enough for me.

"Chaostan"
http://www.chaostan.com/I bought a cut-rate sample issue or two to this market letter in 1995 and was extremely impressed. There's a lot of writing and analysis of events in the mideast and the politics over oil on the web site that's most timely. I'd quote some, but you can go there, and I don't feel like emailing the publisher to inform them I've quoted from the web page, as they require. But take a look at the links, especiallyhttp://www.chaostan.com/newaxis.htmlThere are more links within the articles, all are very interesting. Reading these articles will make you start thinking about WW III if you havn't already.

...the answer to this question....
...is to somehow oust the Oil Cowboy Regime,,,and the racket of collusive pimps and whores, who are riding the big oil money express,,,,as it has its way with us sheep,,,,,,,,sneakin' up on us from behind,in the pasture,,,in the middle of the night,,,,under the colors of a false, and absurd, lunatic "war"......
..And now,,,the party is in full swing.....The media has been secured.......... Go ahead and quote me,as the guy who said the takeover of the media,is the most significant aspect in the ending of American Freedom, and democracy,as it once was!
.Major network television,,is now Federal TV!...Am I wrong?,,,,,. Think about it,,,CBS,NBC,ABC,FOX,.. .etc..,,alll have become a unified federal voice........
..I want to power barf, and freak,,,when I think of this,"every kid send a dollar to the whitehouse for Afghani children!!!This is phantasmagoricly obscene,in my opinion!...talk about federal endoctrination!.... And the absolutely grotesque mutual "pledge of allegiance",event!...GOOD F*&KING GRIEF!!!......Am I going off the edge,,,or is there something extremely disturbing about the total media saturation of these items,,making them seem normal, and unquestionably patriotic!!!!... ..The events of the last month are INSANITY....What happened in the tragic event of 9/11,,pales in comparison,,to the things that the bush regime has done since then,,,, ,,and what really makes me freak,,,,what really makes my skin wanna crawl home to Mom,,,is the fact that the great majority of the flock has been successfully endoctrinated in this federal Cult,of mass propaganda,in a way that is far more devious, and covert than anything in the history of civilization...dddd

BIODIESEL Question
Do current diesel engines need
alteration to run biodiesel?
If not is there anything stopping
anybody from just producing and
marketing it?

a little wet but many still sign petiton
Well WMU had its homecomming today and we managed to get signers inbetween the rain drops. My only wish is that more people would become involved in the process.
If any one would like to know more about Ethanol please see http://www.ethanol-gec.org and go to publications. start reading the issues and one will see that much has been set in motion allready. As has been stated before here the top Hemp lobbiest is Ex. Cia. Dir. James Woolsey who with Mr. Nader has spoken out in favor of Hemp being used for fuel. Together we can get the word out on this matter. Call radio stations and just pass along the gov't web site for Ethanol, state the facts on Woolsey and Nader. Write a letter to your local paper, or some newsletter.
We here in Kalamazoo are asking for Hemp to be studied in W.M.U.s paper department. We have lost 5 papermills in the last 20 months. Help educate we can all do something.

Lehder
Glad you don't get it either. If I were a terrorist like those that took their own lives when they crashed into the World Trade Center etc. I would give myself Smallpox and go places where lots of people are like a subway and contaminate as many people as I could then die or take my own life. That's what I would expect if it were a terrorist activity not really using Anthrax. I am trying to think like a terrorist but it is very hard.

it makes no sense
to me either, FoM. I've been asking the same questions, and it makes no sense. There was not a single case of anthrax for 25 years. Now we've had four of them in a week, and they came from different strains of the bug. They were found on computer keyboards and, evidently, in the mail. Four cases of a noncontagious disease. Is this a Taliban attack? If so, it's not much of an attack. Yet with no cases at all for 25 years these would seem to arise from criminal intent. It really makes no sense at all. Maybe the few bugs were distributed by isolated nuts and wackos trying to use terrorist threats as a cover. a mystery.

hmm...
I swear I saw a TV story on SUV's and fuel efficiency when Bush was picking cabinet members, and they mentioned the fact that Todd Whitman owns THREE SUV's.

A Question
I am not afraid of Anthrax but if it was Small Pox I would be afraid. Why would a terrorist use Anthrax over Small Pox if it is a more deadly disease? Some of this war just doesn't make any sense to me. It seems like the news is trying to scare us into a corner or something.

Just a Note
Hope everyone is having a pleasant weekend considering the state of the world. I haven't been able to find any news to post but I will post news if I find any as I look throughout the day. News is always slow on the weekends and even more now it seems.

Thank You, America
October 11, 2001Thank You, AmericaBy Terry Vanden-Bosch
Democratic UndergroundMy Fellow Americans, The first shots have been fired in our glorious war of revenge and justice. And when the announcement came, Americans cheered and waved their flags in a rush of patriotic frenzy. It was a sight to behold. Even sports arenas paused to chant the name of capitalistic glory - America! Your reaction warmed the hearts of your elected leaders. We've gladly given you entertainment extravaganzas and a renewed sense of loyalty in our global superiority. And in return, you've given us a blank check for our most important war ever. We thank you from the bottom of our corporate-owned hearts. The challenge that faces us now is maintaining this glorious momentum. And we will do our part. We promise to fill the airwaves with pictures of the ungodly destruction these terra-ists inflict on our sacred land. We will never let an opportunity pass to inspire your rage and self- righteous anger. It's the least we can do. Our necessary media controls may limit the information you receive about our military actions, but don't be concerned. As one of our enlightened congresswomen stated, we must not let reporters "seesaw on every side, balancing reporting. That's not democracy." Much of what we must do in this time of global crusade needs the cover of fog and darkness to achieve its goal. You don't want the details anyway. You needn't clutter your minds with troop movements, military budget expenditures and collateral damage when you can focus on great American entertainments like network programming. Show the world you are not afraid. Return to your patriotic habits of spending, consumption and excess. What is good for American corporations is good for America. We'll do the heavy thinking for you. And to keep you up to date we'll write stirring speeches for delivery by your Commander-in-Chief to the approving cheers of the network correspondents. We know your concerns. Our hidden enemy will try to maximize your fears. But we have fighter jets patrolling our coasts, National guardsmen checking transportation ports and a Homeland Security Office that is anticipating their every move. And should an evil one slip through, the chances are great that it won't be you who suffers. Their actions will only create new heroes and opportunities for us to prove the value of hatred and single- minded revenge. We are the greatest military power on earth and cannot fail to subdue third world countries with little electricity and few flushing toilets. We will prevail. Have no fear when our battles extend beyond the Afghanistan borders. Those who do not support us do not deserve the obscene profits they make off our energy needs. We will bring to reality our master plan for control of the mid east oil fields. And someday, in the future, when this war is but a few pages in the history books you can take pride in knowing your response to our media campaigns contributed greatly to America's success. You were a key player in the globalization and profitable reconstruction of the world's fuel supplies. God bless you and God bless America.

Hemp bio-diesel
Herein lies the frustration or the conspiracy if you will. Bio-diesel from hemp and even other sources could be an attractive alternative to gas and oil, yet not only is nothing done to even attempt development of these alternatives (too expensive we are told!) hemp is outlawed because of the druggie wars. So now we engage in a real war with terrorists trying to spread horrible diseases, blowing up airplanes, destroying buildings, etc., but never do we attempt to address the root of the matter - enegry dependence on middle east oil. We would rather bomb and kill rather than make an honest effort to find other altenatives. Congress, the major political parties, big oil, and a very lazy electorate all share the blame for this.

The Answer
The answer to this issue is hemp bio-diesel. Turbo-diesel vehicles have all the muscle that Americans savor as they pass old Subarus. Its emissions are far lower than those petroleum diesel which is a fairly toxic source. This is another agenda that should be emphasized.
