cannabis Colorado -- The revised message on the billboard promoting passage of the pro-marijuana initiative I-100 in Denver is just as dubious as the earlier one but at least it's less graphic.

Under public pressure, sponsors withdrew a proposed board that included a photo of a battered woman and her abuser, with the slogan, "Reduce family and community violence in Denver. Vote Yes on I-100."

It failed to mention that the measure would theoretically make it legal for adults to possess up to an ounce of pot in Denver, although it wouldn't preempt state law.

The new board has only text that reads, "Alcohol use makes domestic violence 8 times more likely . . . Marijuana use does not. Vote Yes on I-100."

That's an unproven claim but it's within the bounds of fair political debate. And the sponsors are finally willing to concede the measure has something to do with pot.

That's a step forward.

Vermont people seem like my kind of people. They seem to put an importance in issues I care about.

I'm not political as everyone knows but I sure wish Dennis Kucinich would run for Governor. He would transform Ohio into a lovely blue state I believe.

And the sponsors are finally willing to concede the measure has something to do with pot.

The sponsors didn't need to mention pot in the first ad. They knew that the anti-violence groups and the media would do that for them! Many thanks to them for helping far more folks hear about these ads than the billboards themselves would have reached!

On an unrelated note, Dennis Kucinich is still raising hell...

Maybe the sign should read............
Alcohol makes, falling down, saying something stupid, puking on yourself, wrecking your car, loosing your paycheck on the way home, commiting adultry with a really ugly dirty tramp, waking up with a black eye, trying to explain to your wife why the knees of your trousers are riped out, loosing you car keys, burning holes in your clothes and car upholstry, spending your rent money, waking up in jail, eight times more likley than smoking marijuana.
