DEA The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration on Thursday followed through on its plans to seize 2.5 grams of marijuana that the Portland Police Bureau has been holding for three years and was scheduled to return to its owner.

The aging buds are the property of Samuel Nim Kama, a 52-year-old heart bypass patient who uses marijuana to control nausea brought on by his numerous other medications.

After Portland police seized the tin of pot from him in 1999, Kama was able to convince state authorities that he was allowed to use it under Oregon's Medical Marijuana Act. But the property remained in police lockup while the city fought in court to keep Kama from getting it back. When the city lost that fight earlier this month, the DEA stepped in with a federal seizure warrant.

Kama, who lives on a fixed income and has incurred several thousand dollars in legal bills, said he would continue to pursue his now-stale property in federal court.

"The principle of the thing is the law," Kama said. "Do the people have a right to make a law and live by the law, or can the federal government just take it away from us?"

Assistant U.S. Attorney Leslie Baker said the marijuana will be sent for storage at a DEA facility in San Francisco. -- Steve Suo

How much did it cost?
For DEA to obtain a warrant for a miserable 2.5 grams of cannabis?

A gram masses about as much as a raisin
The DEA anally fixates on 3 raisin's worth of one sick man's weed? While metric tonnes of the 'powders, white and deadly' pour through the US, beefed up security or not, every day?

Evidently, the US government still has problems prioritizing.

That's 2 point 8%,
family.

2 . 8% of our daily needs.

Our bodies make GLA, (i think)also, and it is gereraly thought that environmental reasons increase the need for GLA faster that we make it. Boozers, benefit form GLA...

A lot of this info is available on the net but stems from Chris Conrad's Hemp For Health, book.

God makes it perfect.
Our father perfected cannabis. ``worked like a charm.''

We know that it helps once We get cancer! We know that it aids in helping not get cancer to begin with!

If it aids once we get it `` like a charm.''

When We understand how well it helps keep from getting cancer, to begin with, We will say, ``worked like a charm.''

Gamma linolenic acid, (GLA), is only found in app. 5 places on earth, including mothers milk and hemp seed oil. It is know to aid the immune system. If You did not nurse as a baby, You may have never put GLA into your body. If You strengthen You immune system, though, You may not need the pills president bush sells at a hefty buck.

The ratio of GLA, Omega 3 & Omega 6, in hemp seed oil, is the closest to blood plasma, over any other source. Blood like water carries oxygen. Fish suck the oxygen out of water for their survival. We should treat the blood, well.

By the way, my Hempola hemp seed oil (imported from Canada)bottle says it only supplies 2.8% of its daily requirement!

Plus it tastes great on salads.

Stephen Jay Gould
A few days ago Dr. Russo noted Gould's sad death and how his illegal use of cannabis allowed him to survive cancer for more than twenty productive years after a prognosis that allowed only eight more months of life. Counter Punch today eulogizes the man and his works and give a list of his popular books.

Gould on marijuana:

In July 1982, doctors told geologist Stephen Jay Gould -- whose mind dwells in prehistory and who measures time in billions of years -- that he had eight short months to live. With his career in full bloom, he was diagnosed with a rare and incurable cancer called abdominal mesothelioma.

A case study in determination, Mr. Gould was one of the first people on Earth to beat the disease, thanks to surgery, radiation, and years of torturous chemotherapy. But the ``most important effect upon my eventual cure,'' he says in hindsight, was the illegal drug, marijuana....

``I was miserable and came to dread the frequent treatments with an almost perverse intensity,'' he wrote of the chemotherapy.

``Absolutely nothing in the available arsenal of (anti-nausea medications) worked at all.''

Marijuana, on the other hand, ``worked like a charm.''

Thank Goodness!
Thank goodness that 2.5 grams of the dreaded marijuana wasn't unleashed onto the streets (or into the pocket of a sick person). Who knows what carnage and crime has been avoided by destroying this major drug/terrorist cartel!?!?

p.s. That's sarcasm.
