UN Challenges Blunkett Cannabis Plan |
Posted by FoM on February 26, 2002 at 21:03:26 PT Breaking News Source: London Evening Standard A United Nations report has questioned the Government's logic in seeking to relax the laws governing cannabis use. No European country with a similar approach can demonstrate that it reduces demand from users of illicit drugs - Labour's stated aim in reforming the law - the UN's International Narcotics Control Board (INCB) says. The board's statement follows David Blunkett's announcement last October that possession of cannabis should no longer be an arrestable offence and the substance reclassified as a Class-C drug. If abortion were illegal, would there be a lower number of abortions or a higher number of abortions? If abortion is illegal, you will have dead women on motel room floors. A botched abortion has deadly consequences. So,UN, should abortion be legal or illegal? In the book "Our Bodies, Ourselves" it states the statistic for the number of illlegal abortions c.1950. The number, 1.5 million. All illegal. Does having abortion illegal stop abortion? The answer is no. Does having drugs illegal stop drug use? The answer is no. A precedent has been established. Legal abortion is better than illegal abortion. Safe sanitary conditions are always better than a motel room where no one knows. I really do not know why individuals want to have chemical derivatives of plants made into drugs, it is an unexplainable phenomena. I think it has to do with the awareness that nobody is going to make it out of here alive. Nobody really knows. The fact remains that some folks are going to want to alter their consciousness, and no amount of effort to try and stop it is going to do it. It will take place. The logic the UN uses defies logic. How many years have the U.N. have set the goals of "Drug-Free" concept? 2008? After what? 50 years of fooling around? Go to World Health Org. and you will find that World's greatest problem is not the use of drugs but LACK of drugs which to treat the sufferings and pains of human beings. Every where you may go, it's controlled drugs that are being used. Ever wonder why? Probably because majority of human beings are being wise. What choice do human beings have? Woe to you human beings who are addicted to New World Order. Woe to the New World Order addicts who thrive on misery, sufferings and pain of common human beings who choose the Higer Power's gift of simple plant. It's all about control, power and greed and nothing else! ff [ Post Comment ] |

You [should] not examine legislation in the light of the benefits it will convey if properly administered, but in the light of the wrongs it would do and the harm it would cause if improperly administered. -- Lyndon Johnson, former President of the U.S. What the WHO doesn't want you to know about cannabis Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their consciences. These governments should consider whether this is the "proper strategy" for achieving UN General Assembly's target of significantly reducing drug abuse by the year 2008, it said. If they were serious about reducing drug abuse they would have to start with alcohol and tobacco. Without stating that, the whole thing becomes goofy. And how about the four freedoms of the UN that Eleonor Roosevelt presented and how does that relate to medical care. Besides being goofy this article distracts from the situation where the US government is lying about MMJ. How about calling on the US to tell the truth. Hutchinson will not appear in public again and say that marijuana has no medical value. He is too busy trying to figure out how to stop the wall from falling down. We know the government is not concerned about the public health. There would not be 30,000 genetically engineered food products in the US food supply and the Surgeon General would do like Dr. Weill and say you have got to quit eating those unnatural hydrogenated oils that are clogging your arteries. It is all a joke. When Vitnam wanted to ban cigarettes the US threatened them with economic sanctions. The US is just defending its poison and economic interest. It does not care about disease and death. It is the money, stupid. VAAI [ Post Comment ] |
