Cannabis users are being cautioned by police

cannabis Rudolph Giuliani has criticised the "relaxed" attitude police in London have shown to cannabis saying the drug causes violence. The former New York mayor delivered his verdict during a visit to the UK to receive an honorary knighthood.

Mr Giuliani's comments were made after he had been told about the pilot scheme in Lambeth, where users caught with small amounts of cannabis are avoiding prosecution.

However, the Metropolitan Police has defended the scheme by saying it was being constantly reviewed.

The Met introduced the pilot last July. Supporters say it has saved thousands of hours of police time.

Mr Giuliani is famed for his "broken windows" policy which helped to slash crime in New York by targeting small and anti-social offences.

Asked about the Lambeth scheme, he said he would arrest anyone for possession of cannabis.

"Marijuana caused a lot of the violence we had," he said.

"I would encourage the police to arrest as many of them [drug users] as possible."

Former New York Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik added that one of the worst crimes in New York recently, the Carnegie Deli murders, were tied up with the drug.

He said: "We had one of the most heinous incidents in a long time in which three people were killed and two injured.

"People were shot in the head execution style.

'Magic Solution'

"It was all to do with marijuana - it is not a victimless crime."

Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir John Stevens defended the policy: "It is being independently assessed.

"Cannabis is not legalised, this is a pilot scheme and we will wait and see."

Sir John welcomed news that both mayor Ken Livingstone and Home Secretary David Blunkett wanted to see the number of police officers in London rise to New York levels.

He said the Met's recent crackdown in crime-ridden parts of London had seen 1,600 arrests and street crime down by up to 15%.

Mr Giuliani said: "Nobody has a magic solution to crime but there is no doubt the more police officers you have the more effective you can be."

The families should sue for defamation and libel
Most of the libel and slander committed in the name of marijuana prohibition is cleverly aimed at things or people who can't sue for defamation.

The Gogeks would get sued into the next millenium if they ever targeted a real person with the kind of allegations that they were able to safely make about Zonker Harris, cartoon character.

And marijuana can be libeled as much as possible, because substances can't sue for libel any more than cartoon characters can.

But Giuliani is telling a deliberate falsehood about the victims of the Carnegie Deli murders, and it happens to be a falsehood that defames the victims of the murder by implying that they were executed in some kind of drug gang execution, when they were victims of a robbery/homicide, as determined by Giuliani's own NYPD.

I wish that some family member of the victims would sue his ass, and sue the BBC and Ananova for publishing his false and defamatory allegation without bothering to check the facts, as is usually the case when it comes to marijuana.

These people are so sloppy, it would be so easy to nail them in a libel case if they would just defame the right person.

You cannot run around saying nasty things about people if you make no effort whatsoever to check whether they are true.

That is the law, and these media organizations need to be made accountable when they break the law.

NaziUSA: Adolf Guliani and Pretzel Boy
Blatant and upfront, unabashedly Nazi rhetoric is being touted by these dolts and the media is complicite in reporting their propaganda without critique. March on CNN, FOX and local news stations, as they are to blame for the insidious atmos'fear' in the world today. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself, and shrubby can only do one thing: fearmonger! These non-human entities are callous, ruthless, emotionless, compassionless reptoids. See David Icke, "The Biggest Secret". Shocking, yes! preserving the status quo, no! The chink in the armor is all that was needed, and when Rudy the message boy is sent to the U.K. to do the bidding for the drug warriors, you know trouble is afoot.
