cannabisnews.com Rudy Giuliani was treated like a crimebusting superhero yesterday in theft-wracked London, where Queen Elizabeth awarded him an honorary knighthood Wednesday.

Oddly, London Mayor Ken Livingstone suggested the Brits swipe something from our former mayor, telling an audience, "Let's really honor what Rudy Giuliani achieved by doing it here. That would be a better honor than a knighthood, to steal an idea that works."

Motivated by London's 40% jump in street crime in the last year and speaking to guests who included Oscar nominee Helen Mirren, "Harry Potter" star Alan Rickman, theatrical impresario Cameron Mackintosh and former MTA head Robert Kiley (who now runs London's subways), Livingstone said the 62% drop in crime during Giuliani's mayoralty resulted from hefty police hiring and the movement toward community policing, reports The News' Ellen Tumposky.

Later, at Scotland Yard, Giuliani — who, of course, is famously contemptuous of community policing — took a tough stance on drugs.

"I'm generally in favor of arresting everyone," Rudy said bluntly, when asked his opinion of a pilot program in one London neighborhood that is turning a blind eye to marijuana use. "Marijuana led to a lot of the violence we had in New York City."

Giuliani and Judith Nathan, who has accompanied her honorary knight in shining armor on the entire visit, were planning to spend today sightseeing before leaving tomorrow for Germany, where America's mayor will be picking up yet another award. They return to New York on Sunday.

Ganja Up on Them

Reggae legend Bob Marley would probably be pleased to know his sons are continuing his worship of Rastafari. But their alleged use of sacramental herbs got them busted on Wednesday in Tallahassee, Fla.

Musicians Julian Ricardo Marley, 26, and Stephen Nesta Marley, 29, were returning home after performing in New Orleans when police pulled them over for speeding.

"I walked up to the driver's door and smelled a strong odor of marijuana," said Florida Highway Patrol Sgt. Hugh Cutchen. "In searching the vehicle, we found eight big joints of marijuana."

The musicians were charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. They posted bail.

Hi Zero_G
The only reason I posted this because it's called News and Views and it is like short pieces and not a real article. Now that his opinion is in an American paper we can hope for more articles to be written. About Paul I worry. His new lady is against marijuana. Mark my word if she keeps him from using Cannabis the his quality of his music will deteriorate. Cannabis helps people that are musically inclined to do a better job and be more creative. I'm keeping my fingers crossed they he puts her in her place in this area. Needless to say I'm being perfectly honest it's hard for me to see him with anyone but Linda so I'm being a little nasty because she just isn't Linda

Sheriff John Brown...
Always hated me, For what, I do not know. But every time I plant a seed, He say, kill it before it grows. He say, Kill it before it grows.

But I say...

************************************************************

Can't quite figure this article out, the first part doesn't seem to be written by the same person as the second, or am I just confused. Not the first time, of course.

"I'm generally in favor of arresting everyone," Sir Rudy. Now I realize the article cuts him off midsentence, but I'm reminded of "Kill'em all, God will recognize his own", which I believe was first atributed to the Catholic Bishop in charge of the Cathar massacre in France, before being made popular on USMC tee shirts.

I'd like to see Sir Paul McCartney, who just the other day called the late (did not accept the honour) Sir John Lennon his hero, call Sir Rudy out on this. Sir Paul, who has been a flag waving moral supporter of NYC since 9/11, has stood by the mayor at Madison Square Garden, should be arrested according to the former mayor. Sir Paul CAN get media attention, no doubt. A duel might be in order, say spliffs at 20 paces.

"Picture yourself", as a man with some testicles, Sir Paul!
