Incompetence: Feds Haven't Done Their Job |
Posted by FoM on September 16, 2001 at 11:59:24 PT By Laura Kriho Source: Daily Camera The U.S. federal government was shown to be completely incompetent once again when terrorists hijacked four different planes from three different airports within the span of an hour on Sept. 11. I suppose this attack should come as no surprise, since this is the same federal government that "accidentally" bombed the Chinese embassy during the war against Yugoslavia because their "intelligence" couldn't provide them with a map any Belgrade tourist could have gotten, and the same government that engaged in their own terrorist act by destroying a pharmaceutical factory in Sudan because they mistakenly thought it was a chemical weapons facility. I'm sure the solution of the U.S. Congress will be the same as it was after the Oklahoma City bombing: throw more money at federal-security agencies and enact new anti-terrorism laws. I hope that U.S. citizens will not be appeased by this response once again. We already spend billions of dollars on "security" and "intelligence," and our laws are strict and severe enough. What we need is for people to start doing their jobs! The job of the FBI should be to protect us against terrorist attacks like the ones we just suffered. Instead, the FBI is spending its time and money investigating and killing U.S. citizens, as in Ruby Ridge, Waco and on Sept. 3, 2001, when two peaceful hemp activists were brutally gunned down and killed by the FBI at the Rainbow Farm Campground in Vandalia, Mich. See: http://www.cannabisnews.com/ It's time we demanded that the federal government operate like a business and stop wasting our tax dollars. In a business environment, this terrorist attack would cause people to lose their jobs! I would like to see every person that could have in any way prevented this attack fired and replaced by someone competent. George Bush says he wants to bring "those responsible ... to justice." Let's have justice start at home. He should begin immediately by firing the heads of the FBI, CIA and NSA. They failed, and their failure cost thousands of lives! Will they continue to collect their paychecks? We don't need more money or more laws to prevent this from ever happening again; we just need the federal government to start doing its job! And that will only be the beginning. To quote songwriter Gil Scott-Heron," Peace ain't coming our way; we've got to work for peace." Laura Kriho - Nederland Newshawk: Colo. Hemp Init. ..I'm sorry for the obscured profanity,,,but I just saw a local news report concerning the "re-opening" of Dodger Stadium in LA following the "terrorist attacks"...they read off a list of items that would no longer be allowed!,,,,coolers, icechests,, arrive early because everyone will be subject to being searched! ...this is for a fuc*in' baseball game folks!...What's next,,a background check before being admitted to a PTA meeting?....This is going to require a new word in the english language!.."Insanity",is not strong enough!.....They are already heavily sniffing the posteriors of Amtrak passengers, and if ya decide to go Greyhound,,dont be shocked if you have to undergo the scrutiny of a lab,or a spaniel before boarding!.. War is going to cause more problems than solve. The U.S. Government should make sure it has enough evidence to support their claim. Bin Laden said he didn't do it but can he be believed. Afghanistan is more powerful than we may think. [ Post Comment ] |

The federal government is SHOCKINGLY incompetant,,, ...The word"incompetant",suggests that one is not even worthy enough to compete,,,but the term is improperly used in reference to the federal government,,because the fact is,,that they are not competing with anybody,,unless you count competing for more funding as "Competition". There is no concept in the federal governments realm, that The agencies of todays federal government answer only to the ..Now,,this very shell game of incompetance,,will be utilized to The absurd, criminal falsehood that is now being presented to ...........But what they dont say,,is that no amount of money,

I suppose this attack should come as no surprise, since this is the same federal government that "accidentally" bombed the Chinese embassy during the war against Yugoslavia because their "intelligence" couldn't provide them with a map any Belgrade tourist could have gotten Now, not to say that it was not a heinous mistake for America to bomb the Chinese Embassy (well it was a mistake to bomb Serbia but aside from that...) BUT MS KRIHO:Soviet Communism was a paranoid ideology. The Soviet Communists deliberately printed incorrect maps of Moscow specifically for tourists and/or invading armies. Almost every single map of Moscow that one could buy that was published by the Soviet State contained deliberate errors, especially regarding the locations of places like foreign embassies. Now it would never occur to a straightforward American, living in a free and open society, to deliberatly print maps of American cities that were wrong. But this was an official Soviet policy. And Milosevic was a Soviet apparatchik before he discovered nationalism was the ticket to post-Communist power. The CIA of course should have known Belgrade better than that. It's not like they never had time to study it before. [ Post Comment ] |

I don't know if anyone feels like I do. I was just telling me husband that I can be for retaliation and against it all in one sentence and he nodded. I cry for those who've lost loved ones. I am angry about the devastation in NYC. I have been to New York City. I've been to Radio City Music Hall, The Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden to see the National Horse Show. I tried to stuff a dime in a token slot to ride the subway. Dumb! My Father spoke at a convention held at the Waldorf Astoria. I said that to say this. Even though my heart is in living in the country, NYC was very impressive and I feel so bad for the city itself right now. [ Post Comment ] |

Please read kaptinemo's links; she's been a heroine of mine for a long time and taught us a lot, at great personal expense including jail time, about the corruption of our judicial system and how to fight it as a juror. What we need is for people to start doing their jobs! Any attacks we make during "hammer of vengeance" will of course be heavily censored to hide any failures; but as a former aerospace employee ( my services are unavailable to the feds by my own choice ) I can tell you that the incompetence which haunts our intelligence services also pervades the weapons industry, and it will be hard to hide the fact that our weapons really do not work so well as advertised. Lots of programs are vastly overrun in cost and in schedule. Why? Because big shots like to sit in plush offices counting profits and giving orders rather than doing science and real engineering. I was there, I know, it made me sick and I'm glad to be a stargazer again. It's hard to argue with Laura's conclusions about government incompetence. Any organization that still imagines that marijuana is an addictive narcotic, and at the same time presumes to educate us about "drugs", has surely got its head stuck irretrievably up its big fat ass. Right after the fall of the Sovs, the military/industrial complex needed a new enemy to keep the bucks rolling in. And who was the enemy? "Drug Barons"! So the lion's share of appropriations went, year after year, more and more and more, into the intell agencies to 'stop' the flow of drugs into this country. Because drug interdiction was deemed in governmental circles as being a 'sexy' issue with lots of money making potential. Yet as we all know, it possessed all the efficacy of stopping the tides by wading knee deep in the ocean, putting up your hand and authoritatively saying "Stop!". So chasing drug smugglers - and spying on users - became the favorite sport of the M/I complex. They could sit back and relax, as they could expect gainful employment for the next 20-40 years. Meanwhile, people we had helped during the Russian occupation of Afghanistan saw a chance to 'pay us back' for all the help we've given Israel over the years...and used against their 'brothers' (whom many 'jihadists' would happily kill if Israel were not a more useful target; tribal hatreds run deep in the Arab world). Using the tools we had given them, and their own native intelligence, they have turned the tables on us. The Feds have all the toys they could ever want - and they have used those taxpayer-funded toys against their own citizens; ECHELON, CARNIVORE, and no doubt some things we know nothing about. With all these fancy toys, they should have aseen a Billy Mitchell/Bombing of Tokyo-styled terr raid on a US target coming a mile off. But instead, they were busy harrassing you and me. I have never had any sympathy for these wastrels. As a Federal employee I watched millions being effcetively fliushed down the toilet just to ensure that millions more could be appropriated...and 'disposed' of in exactly the same fashion next fiscal year. And their obsession with destroying the lives of users of weeds, flowers and shrubs left them blindsided to a bunch of nut-cases armed with overgrown Xacto knives and airline pilot manuals. Who have taken advantage of the myopic vision of the M/I complex to murder thousands of innocent people. Stupid. So stupid [ Post Comment ] |

... was on one of the Sunday morning shows (Meet the Press?) this morning and said something to the effect of "we spend more fighting illegal gambling than we do against terrorists." Interesting how he picked something like the practically insignificant war against illegal gambling to rag on instead of the obviously more insidious and widespread waste of money and resources that the government is carrying out! Can't anger all the vested interests, I guess........... I just wonder if this tragedy could get the gov't to rethink its priorities on certain issues, and realize that there are things far more important to squander valuable law-enforcement and military resources on than harassing innocuous cannabis users! We better remember that these people kicked the soviets in the butt and sent them packing. The WANT us to rush in. They will also go for our military contractors next. We need to protect those factories and the ones that supply them with parts or we may find a war machine that doesn't have the capability to run long. As for the crying about the feds not doing their job everyone here knows that encryption is available, heck I use it, that makes it impossible for them to read all messages. They couldn't have seen it coming. I can't beleive I'm standing up for the government. [ Post Comment ] |

The tidal Wave has yet to crest in the Attack on America in terms of who is responsible for what. And as we all have been saying here, Law enforcements and the War on Druugs are going to drug kicking and screaming into the harsh light of a New Day. Bin Ladn and an association of terrorist armies may have decided to turn the US into a gigantic Isreal, initiaing a Holy War against US for various and sundry reasons. The Taliban appear to be responsible for allowing him and his money, to reside in thier protection and thus they will fall into the crosshairs of America's Retaliation. That is, unless they hand over bin Laden. I think it would be very very wise to NOT hammer the Taliban - now - if they hand bin LAden to US. We'd look strong AND wise: an important facelift for us worldwide. I have been dwelling on the fact they hit the Pentagon: while they pulled it off, I think this will go down in history as a very bad idea for terrorists. Its the Military Principal of the thing. Our symbolic "fort"...under siege in a time of formal peace. This kind of event requires a military "payback" of some intensity. I think it's pretty damn generous to give them 3 more days to hand Bin Ladn over. I don't really want to see us blow up a bunch of mountains and poor people. Something less apocalyptic would be to vigourously pursue the legal detention and prosecution of all involved on CRIMINAL charges, thereby whizzing on their dreams of Holy War. back at home, the finger pointing is going to get ugly. Tens of billions of dollars are at stake in the war on Druuugs. The author is tap dead center demanding that people in the government do thier jobs. All that fingerpointing we often see grows out of arenas like governments where there is so many administrative levels, and few "real work" positions. I work for a big county government and the "culture of slackness" , as I call it, is pervasive. (I am one of the best employees they have..and one of their biggest stoners...management must smoke crack, or something) I have already been writing about this and have begun discussing these points with people. Now is the time to focus people on how the war on drugs impairs our security by making searching for potheads more important than real crime. [ Post Comment ] |
