cannabisnews.com John Brusatore has a budding career because of Canada's new medical marijuana laws. The British Columbia entrepreneur is marketing his Power Grow system as a foolproof way for medical marijuana users to grow their own supply.

In its first six weeks of operation, All-Round Industries has done more than $1 million in business. "People that do medically need (marijuana), they don't have to go out on the street for it or they're not going to try and set up some two-bit wiring job in their house and burn their house down," said Brusatore.

It really dose work
I put out $4495 for my power grow unit and all clames are true. I got 1.5lbs of K2 in 7 weeks, the thing paid for its self and all I did was plug it in. By far the easiest& safest way to grow. The lights work, the budz good and its sooo much better than my phototron. Get with the progrham boys for personal smoke its the future!

They Have To Be Dreaming
Those lights look like fluorescents to me. 880 watts for only 25,000 lumens? Come On! A standard 400 watt high pressure sodium lamp puts out 55,000 lumens, and might, if operated well, produce 1 lb in 8 weeks or so.
Fluorescent lamps are only used for cloning these days. This machine would only produce small quantities of very low-grade herb.
If the price of $4000 is correct then someone is trying it on.

Systems
That $4000 is in Canadian dollars ($2589 US, currently) but is still extremely pricey. The claim of 1-2 pounds every 8 weeks is ridiculous. 1-2 ounces, more likely. The wattage of the lights is OK, but they don't say what kind they are using, so it is difficult to tell if heat would be a problem. The reservoir looks very small, which can make it difficult to maintain proper PH, which is critical. There is a lot of essential information missing from their website.

Based on the price and the pitch, this seems opportunistic. You could build something like this yourself from an old refrigerator for about $500, and you would have more room. You can do better for cheaper commercially, too. I don't have any experience with this system, but it looks pretty sweet: (Requires Quicktime 4 or better)

$499 US for a complete system (no C02, but that is not essential, especially for beginners)that could produce 1/2 pound every 8-12 weeks with practice, based on wattage and plant sites. You can double your plant sites and more than double your wattage for $799.

It's a little less stealthy, but you couldn't put that other thing in your living room anyway. Remember too that to get exceptional produce takes effort and skill, along with the right equipment. Marijuana will grow anywhere, but it will not maximize its output or produce its highest quality without a little TLC, just like any plant in the garden.

Wow
It could cost around $4,000? Is that correct? Oh my that's a lot of money. What would make it cost so much? Lights aren't that expensive? What is a Phototron? I think I've heard of it before but I don't know what it is.

Tron
I used a tron for 6 years before it was discovered by firemen who had forced entry responding to a bogus fire called in by my alarm system. Duh, freakin' Murphy's Law. Yeah, they turned me in. The tron produced about 3 z's 'bout every 8 weeks but many pickin's along the way to harvest. Pretty much allowed me and me wife to be independent from the madness surrounded the herb. My wife is to scared to try that again, second offense and all if snagged. The herb it produced was superb, never followed the 'soil test' recommendation. Every 8 weeks I had a harvest festival. This unit here is way over priced and huge compared to a tron. The tron was easily disguised, using the box it came in as a chinese curtain of sorts, it wrapped around the entire outfit nicely having cut the box down one side. When the lights were out nobody would know you were growing cannabis in such a small amount of space. The firemen only discovered it because the lights were on behind the curtain and it happened to be next to the heated therefore they had a peek. Bastards.

I'd highly recommend the Phototron to those looking to free themselves of reefer madness and open to reefer gladness.

Phototron?
"You just plug it into the wall and it'll grow one to two pounds of marijuana every six to eight weeks with no pesticides," said Brusatore

Uh huh. These folks might consider not putting such a thing in their adverts. Or maybe they're already planning for lawsuits, considering the 4K the unit costs. Looks like Rube Goldberg. Why does the name "Phototron®" come to mind? That guy wanted the buyer to send in a soil sample every so often. rofl.

My 2 cents
Hi Lookinside, Dr. Russo an all,

Here is more details of the system. I sure am not up on things like this but what came to my mind is this might be good for people who live in an apartment and want to grow their own medicine and of course in Canada not here. I assume they test for safety before it could be marketed but I don't know for sure because this is all so new.

agreed doc...
my wife would consume over 2 ounces a week when supply was
not a problem...she's making do with 3 oz. a month because
even the clubs charge over $300 an oz.

i'd be...
very careful before i purchased one of these...the claims
and specs sound good, but i'm leary of the light source and
heat dissipation problems...the chambers appear very
short...their claim of 1-2 pounds every 2 months seems waaay
optimistic...

caveat emptor...

Does It Really?
"But a kilogram every couple of months far exceeds the amount they are permitted to have, he said."

Wrong. Most of the Compassionate IND patients who receive legal cannabis from NIDA are using 10 grams a day. That is 300 grams a month, times two is 600 grams in two months. Some people need more for their conditions, so it is not out of the question that a medical patient would require this amount.
