cannabisnews.com Marijuana has emerged as a multi-billion-dollar industry in Canada largely because the United States maintains a vigorous opposition to pot while Canadian authorities turn a blind eye to its cultivation and possession. In the final segment of a three-part series, National Post columnist Diane Francis speaks to people who are leading the charge to legalize marijuana.

The Compassion Club Wellness Centre in the city's rundown Eastside is a leafy oasis where clients can get a massage, acupuncture, naturopathy and as much pot as they want. The day's marijuana menu is listed on a blackboard, with prices ranging from $3 to $10 per gram.

Sanctimonious Propaganda Must End
I loved that article: short, sweet, savage in its attack against puerile government propaganda.

What is the anti-drug for government moralism? Power tripping? Its attachment to micro-management of the people's personal lives?

It is time to take the power away: vote for no candidate who will fail to uphold your civil rights.

What is the anti-drug for an unemployed politician? It's probably becoming a lobbyist!

I always thought
that my/our generation(I was born in 56),,would have
ended thid drug war insanity years ago....but here's the
problem;we are not even close to having a "represenative"
government....it is a myth!...The drug war is owned and
operated by a cartel,,,,,a racket,,,,a small group of very
rich and powerful republicratic a#*holes...

I still like that old saying,"No taxation without representation".

..I mean let's get real here,,does anyone think that a senator,
or congressperson can effectivly represent the hundreds of
thousands of people in their districts? The present day system
was designed when there were way less citizens, and it has
not grown in proportion to the population.

Thanx for the link Kevin,,that's a goody...

Watch Out!
We're older, and are the Establishment. We're the generation of the 1960s. Those attitudes they thought had been eradicated were sitting there, percolating.

At the same time there are one or two younger generations that have grown up with marijuana readily available. With this combination of forces, they will be able to achieve something that a single generation could not achieve by itself. So to the forces opposing them, I'd say: be afraid, be very afraid.
