Source of Ecstasy Experiencing 'Fatigue' With It |
Posted by FoM on July 30, 2001 at 07:23:31 PT By Susan Taylor Martin, Times Senior Correspondent Source: St. Petersburg Times When Dutch Prime Minister Wim Kok visited President Clinton last fall, talks quickly turned to a sore point in U.S.-Dutch relations: the "club" drug ecstasy. The United States has seen a jump in ecstasy use, especially among teenagers, and a surge in violence involving dealers. As far as U.S. authorities are concerned, a root cause of the problem is the Netherlands, which produces up to 80 percent of the ecstasy tablets coming into the United States. I have never heard of any concern from the US authorities for massive production of opium and heroin in Burma, or cocaine in Bolivia, while Montesinos was touted as the best friend of the USA by Gen. Mc Caffrey not long ago. Now we know he spent 10 years creating a perfect model for a narcostate. Maybe The Netherlands are a problem for the US Government, but their major concern is Dutch drug policy is working whereas American DP is an utter disaster. A Domino Theory for the WOD? Many countries are abandoning the hardline and more will do it in the near future. [ Post Comment ] |

I am tired of Amerika being the Ugly Enforcer and promoter of policies other countries recognize as repressive and counter-productive. I have heard these experts speak and have read their work. They have more sense and good judgment when asleep than Dubya and his coven of bureaucrats could muster on the best days of their lives. [ Post Comment ] |
