Rally Held To Protest Drug Bust |
Posted by FoM on July 23, 2001 at 08:24:20 PT By Betsy Blaney, Associated Press Source: Dallas Morning News A crowd of about 350 people rallied peacefully in a Tulia park Sunday night to protest a 1999 drug bust they say was racially motivated. All but three of the 43 people arrested in the bust were black. Tulia's population is about 5,000 of which about 250 residents are black. People at the rally listened to music and poetry readings, played basketball and ate hamburgers and hot dogs as they waited for the speakers to take the stage on a hot Texas night. ..You're right about France Lehder.,,,,but it's hard to judge from the French, because Americans have always disgusted them.I spent several months in France back in the 70s,,and even then ,,Americans, and their politics were looked down upon.My Dad is French, and he tells me that many French people are quite disgusted by Amerikans. ....heck,,,you dont even need to be French to be disgusted by amerika... ...The US prezidunce has made amerika the butt of international jokes, .you know things are bad when we start seriously considering relocating elsewhere. dddd [ Post Comment ] |

i'm honored to be of help to a great and brilliant fighter like you, thanks. i'm especially interested in the writings of william pfaff of whom i know little but who is predicting a growing rift between Europe and the U.S. for several reasons. i have felt this instinctively for some some time, and many incidents - especially out of France - would suggest this growing development. i consider it most significant. the drug war, really, is a small thing in the bigger picture. our situation of U.S. hegemony is inherently unstable - the hegemon is always resented. if i may offer you one more item - a couple days ago, as you were sharpening your turkey knives, i think perhaps the tool you were looking for was a hogsplitter. ..It's good to see you back....I can just imagine how we must look from the Europeans point of view...Our "candle of liberty" barely flickers,as its short wick is on the verge of being drowned in a pool of hot wax.. I like your fightin' spirit.I think that's what it's gonna take to turn dddd [ Post Comment ] |

I like to think of myself as well read, but you've given me plenty of new material to ponder. I've been aware of the works of such luminaries as Parenti, Peter Dale Scott, as the real underpinnings of the history and operations of the Corporate State etc. but lately hadn't read much of them. Now it looks like I'll have to. [ Post Comment ] |

I agree with everything you have said. I spent three weeks in Italy. Life there is very different from here in the states. People still look out for one another and children are watched by everyone in the community. Doctors still make house calls and loved ones are cared for at home, and when someone dies it is family that prepares the body for buriel. People are friendly and older folks tell everyone what to do, and everyone listens. America could learn a lot from our Europeon friends. [ Post Comment ] |

"I don't have no comment," Mr. Coleman said Friday from his home near Waxahachie. "Everybody knows what kind of operation it was." Waxachachie is not a big town! (Glad to have you back, Dr.Russo!) \/ [ Post Comment ] |

Hope you had a fruitful trip overseas! America is definitely taking a back seat in the pursuit of liberty. The current administration is losing credibility on the world stage. We are becoming the laughingstock of the world real quick. This should alarm every citizen with a functional brain. We must stand up & take our country back before it's too late! [ Post Comment ] |

Well, folks, I may be jet-lagged, but I'm back after a month in Europe. This trip (4 countries) was a real eye-opener. We would like to think of the USA as the cradle of liberty, but we are currently taking a backseat. Europe is infinitely more open, relaxed, and inviting than Amerika at this point, and things will get worse unless we the people grab the situation by the proverbial gonads and let the people in charge see that we are serious. We want our freedom, and we want it now. Our current system, policies, and leaders are seen as cruel jokes by the Europeans. Walk down the street in any of these four countries and examine how the people look, how they act, and how they treat one another, and it will provide a poor comparison to Amerika. We lag behind in attitude, personal courtesy, and in countless areas that make up the quality of life, and they know it. Even the most convervative Brit considers it appalling that the poor in America have no guaranteed health care and have been disenfranchised. Unless we are resigned to allow a further deterioration in lifestyle and erosion in our remaining civil liberties, it will require that our voices be loud, persistent and unified on these themes. Freedom now, Freedom tomorrow, and Freedom Forever. Amerika out of Colombia. Stop the Drug War. End Racism. Star Exploration, Not Star Wars. [ Post Comment ] |
