medical Alberta pharmacists say they are prepared to distribute pot for medicinal purposes if a regulated, standard supply can be found. "We would approach it the same as any other drug," said Greg Eberhart, registrar of the Alberta College of Pharmacists.

A B.C. colleague is urging the profession to learn about proper doses, side effects and potential interactions. Robin O'Brien, a pharmacist at the B.C. Cancer Agency who recently penned a paper for the profession's trade journal, said she's not necessarily an advocate of medicinal marijuana, just pragmatic.

I believe the beauty of cannabis as a medical drug is you can tailor each plant to a different strength for the individual user, so self cultivation and much research i.e, specialised growers (criminals at the moment) making these plants the best for individual patients.

A Speculation

Please read this article:

1. Diabetic animals, old dogs and elderly rhesus monkeys given the compound daily for three weeks yielded spectacular results. "The heart and major arteries, which were quite stiff, became more pliable and elastic. So the heart could pump more blood--similar to what you'd see in a young animal," Cerami stated.

2. Alteon Inc. (Amex:ALT - news) announced today that it has begun the Phase IIb SAPPHIRE (Systolic And Pulse Pressure Hemodynamic Improvement by Restoring Elasticity) trial of Alteon's lead A.G.E.Crosslink Breaker compound, ALT-711, in patients with isolated systolic hypertension .....meaning it will be a long time before it can be FDA approved and prescribed.

What would be the Social Security Raiders' response to a drug that increased life expectancy by thirty years?

The black market in this drug could be absolutely uncontrollable, more so than for any drug with a high. The government would fight it, citing patent infringement, wisdom, morality, etc. What would be the public response to government repression of the proverbial fountain of youth? A public of well-heeled aging baby boomers. The whole house of drug-war cards would tumble; the truth about all drugs and herbs would emerge. And all the warriors could not put a war back together again. Guess what else: it's not so hard to synthesize. Especially in Mexico or Colombia.

Maybe
