justice Felony drug charges have been dismissed against three Charlotte residents after a Clinton County judge agreed police did not properly identify themselves before stepping into the home after its door was opened by someone who didn't live there.

Prosecutors on June 28 asked that charges be dropped against 41-year-old Joyce Barten, 32-year-old Lee Barten and 36-year-old Shawn Barten, each of whom was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, a Class D felony that carries a possible five-year prison term.
