| Hidden Camera Aids In Investigation |

Evidence from a hidden camera led to the seizure of 30 marijuana plants near a residence in Dyer on Thursday, according to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office.Officers seized the plants while executing a search warrant in the 200 block of Loomis Lane, Sheriff’s Office investigator Aaron Beshears said. The plants are believed to have been cultivated by Jeremy Layne Baughman, 35, whose residence is in the area where the marijuana was found, Beshears said. Baughman was not present when the search was conducted; a warrant has been issued for his arrest on the charge of manufacturing marijuana, Beshears said. After receiving tips about the cultivation of marijuana in that area, investigators with the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and the Arkansas State Police set up a hidden surveillance camera near Baughman’s property about three weeks ago, Beshears said. Videotape from the camera shows Baughman planting and cultivating marijuana plants, according to Beshears. The search was conducted by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, the ASP, the federal Drug Enforcement Agency and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. Beshears said the marijuana was not on Baughman’s property but on neighboring land in a location that was accessible from Baughman’s property. Investigators do not believe Baughman’s neighbors knew he was growing marijuana on their land, Beshears said. Beshears would not say how or where the surveillance camera was concealed. The plants could be seen from the roadway, he said, but only “if you knew what you were looking for.” A sample of the marijuana has been sent to the State Crime Laboratory in Little Rock for analysis, and the rest is being held as evidence, Beshears said. | The search was conducted by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, the ASP, the federal Drug Enforcement Agency and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. Greenfox, 10 local sherfiffs 50k times 10 equals 500k for the local sheriffs 4500k for the salaries to pay these so called folks.. Future growers should always set up a hidden camera observing the growing area 24 hrs a day so the grower can always check to see if someone is snooping around.
